Elemental Gorgets were one of the most obtained rewards from Chains of Promathia, and remain a staple of many Weapon Skill sets even today. When worn during a matching Weapon Skill, these gorgets add 25/256 fTP to the first hit. Several of Merit Weapon Skills have their first hit fTP copied over to all the remaining hits as well. They are also reputed to give +10 Accuracy to all hits of the Weapon Skill, though the evidence for this exact number is more tenuous; so the exact number should be taken with a grain of salt.
These Gorgets increase Weapon Skill fTP, so they are better used on WSs that start with lower fTP. For example, pushing Asuran Fists from 8 to 8.1 fTP only increases its damage by 1.25% (8.1÷8). Using a Gorget with Tachi: Gekko and 1000 TP increases its fTP from 1.5625 to 1.66, a 6.25% (=1.66÷1.5625) increase.
Every Gorget does not work with every Weapon Skill. In order for a Gorget to affect a Weapon Skill, the Weapon Skill must have a Skillchain property that matches the Gorget. Which priority property it is doesn't matter, as long as it matches. Tachi: Gekko, for instance, is Distortion/Reverberation. That means it will work with either Snow Gorget or Aqua Gorget, per the table below.
While the Elemental Gorgets were originally all an individual elemental property at level 75. A level 72 Gorget combining all of the former into one was introduced via Synergy, named the Fotia Gorget. All effects of the previous gorgets were combined into one gorget to rule them all with an additional bonus of a 1% chance of retaining all of the player's TP when preforming a weapon skill. This 1% chance of not depleting TP stacks with the Fotia Belt from the Elemental Belts. The values of the bonuses remain the same except for now the values are specifically listed.
