Formula for 500+ skill

The formula listed on the page isn't exactly right. The Skill : Damage boundaries I was able to nail down (got the value and confirmed -1 skill was the prior value) are:

  • 531 = 69
  • 538 = 70 delta 7 Skill
  • 547 = 71 delta 9 Skill
  • 554 = 72 delta 7 Skill
  • 562 = 73 delta 8 Skill
  • 570 = 74 delta 8 Skill
  • 577 = 75 delta 7 Skill
  • 585 = 76 delta 8 Skill
  • 593 = 77 delta 8 Skill
  • 600 = 78 delta 7 Skill
  • 609 = 79 delta 9 Skill

(I have subtracted off my full merits / gifts, -15 and -23 respectively, for display purposes)

As you can see from the deltas with the prior skill level, it is impossible for this to be a one-step `FLOOR()` operation, which would always alternate between two deltas, and indeed the formula on the page right now doesn't match it (although it is close). SE has done sums of floored quantities in the past, so `FLOOR(Skill*coeff1) + FLOOR(Skill*coeff2)`. If that's the case, the two coefficients are not whole numbers because the above waypoints don't include common factors and many are prime or prime adjacent. I suspect that it is actually just a lookup table of some kind, in the same way that the increases in drop rate from TH are basically random.

Overall, the formula on the page does a decent enough job and if people are really interested they'll read this talk page and can at least see the these true divisions. --Byrthnoth (talk)

Tier II interactions

Some interactions that were described on other ability pages, but should consider putting on this page too.

  • Auspice does not overwrite Tier II en-spells.
  • Similar to Auspice, certain benefits apply due to the way Tier II only procs on the main hand weapon once per attack round:
    • You're able to benefit from Daze/Samba when hitting with multi-attack or the off-hand while dual-wielding.
    • Off-hand additional effects can proc.
  • Composure triples the en-spell damage increase: damage goes up by 3 every hit instead of 1. --Shynoe (talk) 02:32, 18 November 2022 (EST)
  • Page should also clarify Endark II and Enlight II apply to all hits, unlike RDM's Enspell II series. --Shynoe (talk) 20:44, 23 January 2023 (EST)
