Divine Magic is the smallest general category of spells and focuses on damaging and debilitating enemies with light elemental white magic spells. Because of this, Divine Magic spells are particularly effective against monsters of the Undead family. Banish Spells in particular have enhanced properties when used against Undead type monsters.
- Divine "Nukes": Spells that cause immediate light elemental damage to one or more targets.
- Divine Enfeebling Spells: Spells which are light based variants on certain Black Magic enfeebles.
- Divine Enhancing Spells: Currently only the light based Enspells
Divine Magic skill determines the accuracy and spell interruption rate of Divine Magic spells. It does not affect the magic damage of any of these spells, with the exception of Paladin under the effect of Divine Emblem.
The damage for "nukes" (e.g. the Banish and Holy lines) is calculated from a formula which depends on the caster's and target's various stats. The main caster statistics which affect this damage potential are MND, Magic Attack Bonus, and elemental damage affinity and potency bonuses.
Divine Magic is primarily employed by White Mages and Paladins. Rune Fencers have divine magic skill, but only access to the divine magic spell Flash, while Red Mages and Scholars have divine magic skill but do not natively learn any divine magic spells and can only access them from sub jobs.
