Talk:A Thirst for the Ages

From FFXI Wiki

Questionable Step

I received this notice about the quest:

Hi I didn't want to post something so trivial in the wiki thread, but figured you would know to whom to forward this info

Just a note for the wiki, on this quest:
http://www.bg-wiki.com/bg/A_Thirst_for_the_Ages

I completed it without having done this step:

Yahse Hunting Grounds

Talk to Javolio at (K-9) to receive Ulbukan navigation chart and 150 experience points.

i have a screenshot to prove it was not one of the key items he listed when asking if something was important, if needed.

Once they provide the image, I'll remove the questionable step.

If this is true, it's probably safe to say the other "unimportant" document is also not necessary to complete the quest. I'll add the possibility of skipping them to the article. --Kari 05:21, 10 April 2013 (EDT)

Experience Values

It seems people have been getting different experience values than what were originally listed in this article. As per Yugl's advice, I've changed the values to what I believe is correct, or at least the standard. If you received differently, please make a comment here, if possible listing the order you picked up the Key Items in. These are the values that were listed prior to my edit:

The changes were simply:

I've personally done this quest on my main character, as well as my mule at the same time, in the same order. A friend of mine did this quest over a few days since Adoulin's Release in a different order. Another player added his/her experience to the main article as well. All of these completions resulted in the new values I've posted. I'd say we can rule out that the experience gain changes based on speed, as my friend took very long in-between ???s due to not doing the entire quest immediately. Order seems unlikely, but I can't say for sure. It's possible the original values were simply wrong, but again, please do make a comment if you experienced differently, with as much information as you can give us. Thanks. --Kari 05:18, 10 April 2013 (EDT)
