June 2014 re-testing

This weaponskill was changed in June of 2014. Now it does damage directly based off total Enmity, capping at 1190 damage.

First I checked if the damage was still based on TP in some way by using Flash on aggroed monsters (no initial pulling enmity) and letting my VE decay fully before using Atonement. Unfortunately, I was wearing Ogier's legs and Phorcys Korazin:

  • 1038 TP = 31 damage
  • 2026 TP = 31 damage
  • 3000 TP = 31 damage

Regardless, the conclusion is that damage doesn't scale with TP at all. It is approximately doing Enmity÷6 damage.

Then I set about calculating the damage/enmity at each TP anchorpoint (still with Ogier's/Phorcys) against a level 63 Girtab:

  • 1080 TP with 268 CE = 48 damage = 55 Enmity (1.0x)
  • 2310 TP with ??? CE = 191 damage = 95 Enmity (~1.5x for 2000TP)
  • 3000 TP with 180 CE = 31 damage = 68 Enmity (2.0x)

Then I realized we don't know how much CE we get per damage point against level 63 monsters anymore, so I figured that out using Holy II:

  • 571 Holy II = 643 Enmity = 1.125 Enmity/Damage

Now we can go back and calculate the Enmity multiplier for the Atonements ealier (seen at right).

Then I tested whether or not Atonement's Enmity multiplier stacks with gear:

  • 376 Atonement with +57 Enmity = 1328 Enmity

So yes, it stacks multiplicatively. --Byrthnoth (talk) 15:07, 22 June 2014 (EDT)

Gorget/Belt retesting

With 3000 TP and Gorget/belt (same setup, level 63 target), Atonement still did 31 damage and gave 68 Enmity (no change).

With 1060 TP and Gorget/belt (same setup, level 63 target), Atonement did 45 damage and gave 56 Enmity (Enmity Multiplier +10.5%).

So Gorget and Belt do have an effect, but they don't have the effect that I would have predicted and they are still capped to 2x Enmity gain. --Byrthnoth (talk) 12:25, 29 June 2014 (EDT)

Atonement damage cap

Martel found that Atonement damage was tied to player level or iLevel, but it turns out it's actually specifically weapon iLevel that lets it break past the 990 damage cap. With an iLevel of 116 (via /checkparam), it still capped out at 1150 damage when using Xiutleato (115 iLevel) --Byrthnoth (talk) 22:49, 4 June 2016 (UTC)
