Talk:Delay

From FFXI Wiki

Regarding "All melee weapons have a denominator of 58.85 delay/second (often rounded to 60 delay/second)":

Assuming this is the case, in reality, all of the DPS values that are listed on weapons pages are slightly off. It's not a big deal really, but as far as I can tell, the formula used for DPS is currently 60 * Weapon Damage / Delay, whereas it should be 58.85 * Weapon Damage / Delay. Just an interesting observation more than anything else...since all weapons would be affected equally by the difference, it really makes no change in which weapons have higher or lower DPS. I'm mainly just concerned as to whether or not I'm understanding this right. If so, I'm half-tempted to go in and change all the DPS values we have listed :x

This information is taken from old tester in ffxionline forum. He used FRAPS + Virtual dub and use frame count as measurement. Due to the client-server delay latency and with the game running @29~30fps. He reported that delay/second value at the 58 ~ 61 range (can't remember the detail, I'll dug that up later)--VZX 09:51, 4 December 2007 (CST)
