Vorseal Guide

There are many guides out there, and feel free to read and find anything you feel you may need.
But since this is required for a vorseal and many people never want to touch fishing, myself included, I thought I'd compile a quick guide "to get the vorseal" for this quest.
I read multiple guides, multiple threads... and so much out-of-date info.
But seeing as how I, and others that only care about the vorseal tier, only want the first 20 levels; here's the cheapest/easiest/fastest way to 20 that I was able to compile:

0~9

Halcyon Rod+Sabiki Rig

  • Port Windurst Docks
  • Bastore Sardines
  • Quuses
    • Suggested to get fishing support until ~5, then just fish until you hit the daily 200 fish limit. Easiest way to keep count is to set the catch 100 fish(anywhere) RoE.

Craft LB

Give a Moat Carp to Thubu Parohren at Port Windurst (C-8) with 8~9 skill.

9~14

Halcyon Rod+Minnow Lure

14~20

Halcyon Rod+Fly Lure

And that will give you the 20 skill you need to complete this quest for the vorseal tier.
With the added bonus of if you find that you enjoy fishing and want to continue it past 20, you're all set to give Thubu a Cheval Salmon, which is the crafting LB item for the next skill tier level.
The benefit of this method is that you only need one rod (be sure to press ESC for anything that doesn't say "something has caught the hook" to help prevent breaking it) and the place where you start, Port Windurst, has the fishing guild which sells all three lures for relatively cheap prices, which means you don't need large quantities of bait as lures are reusable.
I found that after ~6, I never needed fishing support again with these locations and setups.
Hopefully this helps others who hate fishing with getting the vorseal. -- FaeQueenCory (talk) 17:09, 6 November 2015 (UTC)

You can stop at 12 skill

You can actually stop at 12 with Advanced Support (+3), level 1 fishing gear (+4) and the easily quested Trainee's Spectacles (+1). You only need 20 active skill for the quest, not base. I personally did it at 13 skill with this combination but assume it works for 12 too. --Mudcake (talk) 11:17, 21 September 2016 (UTC)

I actually tried this, skill level 12 and trainer's specs but it did not activate the quest. I had to go continue fishing greedie's to get 13, and then it allowed me to trade the tuna. User talk:Rehn (talk) 14:16, 25 February 2018 (EST)

Alternate leveling route

You want to use fishermans feast, advanced support, and 4 angler/fisherman gear if starting at 0 like I did. Pelican ring highly recommended but not required. I did moat carp in mog garden up till moat carp cap of 11(turn in carp to raise skill cap at level 8-10). Then do greedie to 13. Use halcyon rod + insect ball for moat carps and halcyon/minnow for greedie.

Have adv. support + 4 angler/fisherman gear and quest should activate. User talk:Rehn (talk) 14:16, 25 February 2018 (EST)
