Base Stat Issue How about we see if we can add a hover-over effect for the image icons (similar to how the forum does it) to show base stats? this should solve the issue with stat cluttering and disagreement.

  1. Flareon

- Feels like a very fine solution. I would love to add that, but i don't quite know how. If someone includes the code for it, i can feed the base stats on it, of course, if that doesn't make the page too ugly for the style police.

oooo! That would be a good solution too!
BUT, I counter with this idea I had right before taking a nap the other day... just as I was falling asleep, it hit me!

Name Icon Path A Path B Path C Path D
Mijin 20983 icon.png Attack+15, Accuracy+15, Ranged Accuracy+15 Accuracy+15, Ranged Accuracy+15, "Store TP"+5 INT+7, Magic Accuracy+15, "Magic Attack Bonus"+15 Evasion+20, Magic Evasion+20, Enmity+4
DMG:107 Delay:190 STR+5 DEX+5 Accuracy+27 Ranged Accuracy+10 Ranged Attack+10 Evasion+34 Katana skill +228 Parrying skill +228 Magic Accuracy skill +215

There is also a third option:

Name Path A Path B Path C Path D
20983 description.png Attack+15, Accuracy+15, Ranged Accuracy+15 Accuracy+15, Ranged Accuracy+15, "Store TP"+5 INT+7, Magic Accuracy+15, "Magic Attack Bonus"+15 Evasion+20, Magic Evasion+20, Enmity+4

Since the tables aren't sortable, there's no issue arising from converting the first column to an image or having a duplicitous text with their stats.
Sadly I've never been able to make images appear over text with BBC. I'm not even sure if that's possible. And the text hover code is escaping me. (Both in memory AND in google!)

Like this? Vtenorio (talk) 15:47, 18 July 2015 (EDT) - Plus, i like both your ideas, more the one with the image. With that i wouldn't even consider the hover code anymore.

Yes, just like that. ^^
I'll fix up the tables with the file images then when I have a moment. (If you want to do it yourself, don't forget to add |link=NAME to the end of the File:XXXXX description.png tag where NAME = the item's name such that the file image links to the weapon page and not the file image page.)
It'll probably be better to change the "Name" column header as well to either "Item" or "Weapon"/"Armor" since it's not a text name but an image. -- FaeQueenCory (talk) 19:09, 18 July 2015 (EDT)

I say use the image. The problem that arises from using stats is that if the values are ever changed, we only change the text on the item page itself. We always upload a new image, so they are always updated to reflect the new/corrected stat values. PS: if anyone is bored, it could be useful to do the same thing on other pages such as armor set pages. Funkworkz (talk) 10:44, 20 July 2015 (EDT)

I disagree about the set pages, since I find the hyperlinking abilities to be more useful in gaining information a person may need. (eg: link to DA page or Cure Formula etc)
But pages like this or the reward pages are ripe for the image use.
(plus with the set pages as they are, they let us format the item descriptions to be easier read and fix typos SE may give. Like Critical Parry or Enmity+6%) -- FaeQueenCory (talk) 16:51, 20 July 2015 (EDT)

How do you suggest we keep set page stats of the armor up to date with changes? At this point it might not even be worth updating, or there probably are not any major changes. Funkworkz (talk) 14:39, 21 July 2015 (EDT)

Just that. Chances are there won't be any changes (or we have already done the changes ala critical parry >>> tactical parry), so I don't think we need worry about that sort of thing.
And in rare instances it won't be too much trouble to change a number or w/e.
At this point in the game, I don't expect anything but typos to be changed on gear. And I've tried to preempt that sort of thing whenever I see it. (the less redirects the better) -- FaeQueenCory (talk)

Like I thought. The armor chart is a little stretched because of the descriptions boxes.
Now we could go the other way to alleviate that, but the auto-update feature may outweigh the strained graphical appeal. I can change it to w/e. -- FaeQueenCory (talk) 12:58, 22 July 2015 (EDT)

Hmmm... I uploaded a pic of Nolan but it isn't showing. Anyone can fix? Protey (talk)

At the earliest convenience, please edit in text titles for all items so that we can CTRL+F specific entries. Having the image only means you need to scroll endlessly to find what you're looking for. EtherealMutation (talk) 16:27, 27 August 2015 (UTC)

Page Re-Development

I think this page needs reformatting. nobody wants to expand the category then scroll way the fuck down to find what they want. we need to lose the category and make sure we have a table of contents on top so it is easy to find what people want. Also, nobody wants to scroll horizontally. Funkworkz (talk) 15:05, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Personally I prefer it to be the way it is so I don't have to go through all the weapons images just to get to the armor. Easier having a spoiler than a page full of images all over the place. Perhaps the issue of the NQ and HQ not lining up perfectly could be a reason though, but just my take on it.--Spicyryan (talk) 15:29, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Like EtherealMutation said, there is no way to find a certain piece without expanding and scrolling all the way down while reading each image. If we had a table of contents you can easily skip to HQ abjs, NQ abjs, etc. Funkworkz (talk) 15:39, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Fair enough.--Spicyryan (talk) 15:40, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Everyone please comment on this format Nolan/sandbox and change what you think needs to be changed. For now I am going to lock Nolan so that no data will be lost while we mess with the sandbox version. Let's get the new one up today and unlock Nolan. Funkworkz (talk) 16:41, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Fuck it, we are going with this! Funkworkz (talk) 18:53, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

I'm with the earlier comment about so much scrolling and the need for sideway scrolling, on top of that due to the use of images instead of text, AS WELL AS the fact the content is hidden, going to a page and using ctrl + f to quickly and accurately find what you want will never ever work here. On top of that, the page is a bandwidth hog with all the images, and while it is loading due to the images not having set width/height in their tags the page moves down, and then when it fully loads the javascript kicks and what you're finally reading chasing down the page will disappear! I'm sorry but I strongly feel we could do much better than this. Verda (talk) 18:53, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

How do you like it now Verda? Funkworkz (talk) 23:22, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

You sir are both a gentleman and a scholar and I appreciate you very much! Verda (talk) 18:53, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

Yuck. It is way too big of a page now. If people want to go to the exact set instead of the entire armor set then fine; take what it is now with the headers of each named set and collapse the sets. Then people will see a listing of each set and can just open the one set instead of scrolling through the mile long page. Protey (talk) 8:53, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

I agree with collapsing the sets. It will also keep the advantage of easy editing in place. Funkworkz (talk) 19:03, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

How is that? I think it kind of messes with the eyes because of the color contrast. Perhaps a brighter top border? Funkworkz (talk) 20:22, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

Much better. The contrast with the eyes (at least for me) is only on the armor set headings in red (problem would be alleviated by creating those pages). Protey (talk) 5:35, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
