Helix and Kaustra continue to do damage even if it's in fire mode, making them extremely popular to use for this fight, even only using helix can lead to a win though SCH are always free to nuke as well if it's not absorbing magic damage. AtrixWolfe (talk) 17:34, 1 August 2016 (UTC)

Melee Strategy

Easy kill with 9. Tank, GEO, COR or BRD // BLU, BLU, BLU, GEO WHM BRD or COR

BRD and COR rotate pts. Taking another COR (to leech or get the win) for SAM and Tacticians is also fine.

GEO outside uses vex and topor. Inside uses frailty and precision.

BLUs all use savage blade. DRK is also a good partner as resolution has the same SC properties as savage blade and thus doesn't SC. The goal here is to never SC. Subbing smn for caitsith on the support jobs to use mewing lullaby is helpful too.

Straightforward from that point. Follow the information on the front page and WS during the moves that he doesn't absorb on and don't for the ones he does. Changing the font color for others > hp/mp recovered to better see when you are healing him is also helpful. Very doable with 7: RUN/NIN WARx2 WHM GEO GEO BRD.

RUN had aettir, so he went /NIN to ease up the healing needed. Very easily blinked tanked and WHM only really had to cure up the -aga IVs.

A general melee strategy on this is Savage Blade and Resolution exclusively (some mix of CORs, WARs, DRKs, BRDs, RUN not using Lionheart) as stated above. Just turn and wait out physical absorption modes. This fight is soloable on SMN and I'd suspect other jobs like BST if you can get enough damage in. RUN MNK BRD GEO WHM COR

RUN just maintains hate, MNK uses Raging Fists whenever it is not in absorb HP mode.

Epeo RUN / Aeonic MNK / 3Song Ghorn Bard / Rostam Cor / Idris Geo.

No SPs needed, 10-15minute fight. Without the above RMEAs, could probably match using SPs.

~1.4M HP (with all the absorbs, I'd say 1.2M in line with other HELMs at 6 people).

Pet Strategy

PUP(tank), COR, GEO, SMN, SMN, WHM(optional)

  • PUP: Light + Fire + Water maneuvers, lock in your Pet DT+HP set, stay out of range of AoE, run in to repair when needed.
  • COR: Companion's Roll + Beasts Roll, stay out of range of AoE and enjoyed the show.
  • GEO: Geo-Frailty + Indi-Refresh, stay out of range of AoE, help cure if no healer.
  • WHM(optional): Do usual WHM stuff, stay out of range of AoE.

SMN's: Avoid BPing during Ony's casting & TP moves. You'll eventually see a pattern of when he uses abilities/spells.

  • Physical Mode (after Ony casts a fire spell) use Garuda + Predator Claws
  • Magical Mode (after Ony casts a stone spell) use Diabolos + Night Terror

Notes:

  • Avg. geared SMN's work fine. Above Avg. geared SMN's makes it go faster. Nirvana SMN's of course are even better... but definitely not required.
  • Idris GEO is NOT required. Of course one would make it go faster.
  • 1HR's are not needed, but if you find yourself running low on time and Ony's almost dead, GEO's Bolster might give you the edge you need to finish him off.

Side Note: I would think replacing the GEO and Healer with 2 more SMN's would work as well, but I haven't tried it yet. --Icydeath (talk) 23:30, 7 October 2019 (EDT)
