Beat the fight on DNC/SAM with Qultada/Ulmia/Koru-Moru/Apururu (UC)/Kupipi. Entered the BC, called trusts, got my TP up, engaged the cloud and used Animated Flourish to pull her to the far wall. WSed her down (avoiding Distortion) with my DT set on. When she switched to absorbing mode (at 5%), I disengaged and used Trance to spam Divine Waltz II at recast, which kept my Trust cadre up. Iroha nuked her for crap damage. When I saw Iroha's WSs were doing damage again, I re-engaged and WSed her one last time for the win. --Byrthnoth (talk) 16:44, 10 November 2015 (UTC)


Had to try this a few times before winning as RUN/WHM with Apururu, Arciela II, Koru-Moru, Selh'teus, Ulmia. From my experience (and several others I've talked to), it's not a specific element that CoD absorbs. When it uses a particular TP move (Primordial something? it has a draw-in effect), the first type of damage it takes (physical or magical) it absorbs until the red gem on its forehead stops glowing. --Kyrial (talk) 07:39, 18 November 2015 (UTC)


I'll preface this with the obvious: I'm a big noob, so there are likely better ways to do this. Regardless, it worked for me. I was a RDM/SCH with barely any merit points or job points invested. Gear sets were NQ Ayanmo for the damage reduction, and gearswapping to NQ Jhakri when casting. These are from Ambuscade. I also used a Beatific Shield +1 I got from Intermediate RoE to reduce incoming damage (the boss seems to only do magical damage).
My weapon was an unaugmented Emissary, so overall my DPS was very poor. If you don't have any of these equips it's no big deal, likely can do with similar gear from Intermediate RoE objectives instead of Ambuscade gear, as long as you can call ilvl 119 Trusts, but do try to find some damage reduction stuff.

I tried several strategies and subjobs til I got it right, so this wasn't smooth sailing. On my winning run I called trusts Amchuchu, Prishe II, Selh'teus, Yoran Oran (UC) and Cherukiki. Surprisingly I didn't die once. Amchuchu died very early in the fight so she wasn't of much use, but I likely just had bad luck. You can probably just throw a support Trust in there instead of a tank, Arciela, Ulmia or Cornelia (if she's still available in the future) might be a good idea.
Prishe died late in the fight when it was around 20-30%, she can do decent damage and AoE heal. Once she was gone I had to be a little bit more offensive to make up for her loss. I tried to keep myself buffed with Phalanx, Refresh II, Haste II, Temper and a -storm spell, while keeping Dia III, Bio III, Addle and Inundation on the boss at all times. Sometimes I got lucky and landed Paralyze II but it didn't do much for me overall. Accession + Phalanx can help your Trusts and yourself stay alive, at least it seemed to work well for me.
I switched between Light Arts and Dark Arts as necessary, Magic Bursted when the opportunity arised, otherwise I just spammed Thunder II and IV from a distance when things got ugly, or autoattacks + WS.

I had to do very little healing on my own, the trusts took care of most of it, but if one dropped too low suddenly I threw a Cure IV. After the boss does its draw-in attack and gains absorption to either magic or physical, I did damage with one or the other. At this point I also tried to use Dispel on the boss as sometimes it copies your buffs when doing a draw in move, if it resisted, I just continued doing damage, but if it actually remoevd buffs, I used Dispel until the buffs were gone or Dispel was resisted.
As I mentioned, I didn't die in this run, but if you do happen to kick the bucket you can resummon Trusts after Iroha raises you, so try to get the same ones out or similar. If you're fine on time, you might want to wait for weakness to go away while keeping a distance from the boss.

Save Chainspell and Stymie for when the boss is about to die. I didn't use them because derp, but the option is there to be used.--Banim (talk) 09:04, 6 November 2017 (EST)

Dia and Bio do not stack. They overwrite each other based on tier with Bio taking precedence over an equal tier Dia, but losing to a stronger tier dia. --Spicyryan (talk) 09:29, 6 November 2017 (EST)


Returning 99BLU experience

Went as solo ilvl119 BLU/RUN in a mix of Ambuscade gear and Dominion gear. Could probably be done in Bayld gear. Returning player, so no super fancy gear.

The key is to get as many trusts outside of AoE as possible and dish out as much damage as possible. I went 0/7 on previous attempts because her AoE just ruins melee trusts/tanks and healers can’t keep up. On top of that, the trust AI is not intelligent enough to disengage when her ruby flashes red. Disengaging on your part leads to the mages running to you - not a good idea when massive AoE is incoming. Kiting engaged during red ruby phase lead to mages dying from her stray AoE. So I decided to just tank it myself.

Here is the setup and strategy on my winning run.

Trusts

  • Cherukiki
  • Apururu UC
  • Koru-Moru
  • Sehl’teus
  • Joachim

Most of these trusts will stand outside of AoE range. Having three healers is essential for surviving incoming damage and topping up HP after Weakness. Sehl’teus will help with his Rejuvenation restoring MP to the healers, and Apururu and Koru have their own methods of restoring MP.

Buffs

  • 2x Lux
  • Saline Coat
  • Pflug when it was up
  • Mighty Guard

Damage

  • Quad. Continuum
  • Delta Thrust
  • Chant du Cygne
  • Magic Hammer for MP restoral, she is super weak to this.

Enmity

  • Jettatura
  • Blank Gaze
  • Flash

Strategy: Apply magic defense buffs. Engage with Flash and establish enmity with Jettatura and Blank Gaze. Maintain this rotation throughout the fight. Make sure everyone is out of AoE. Drag her to the wall. Tank with back to wall. This avoids issues with knockback. Use CDC when it’s up and her ruby isn’t flashing red. When her ruby flashes red, drop target lock and turn around. Reapply your magic defense buffs - Saline Coat, Mighty Guard, Pflug - to survive her TP move at the end of this phase. Use Quad. Continuum, Delta Thrust, and Magic Hammer to keep up with damage and avoid timing out. That’s it. This fight is all about surviving incoming magic damage and dishing out enough damage to avoid timing out. Do those two things and you will clinch the win. Mifaco (talk) 22:49, 19 January 2021 (EST)
