Saw a group fight this last night. 18 man alliance, so I wasn't lucky enough to get a spot and I decided to just stay and watch.
2x Aegis (95) PLDs initially held the NM and were hitting for 0 damage as would be expected. (One had 99 Excalibur) The army of mages, approximately 7-8 of a mix of WHM, RDM (who seemed to be there to refresh everyone and cast enfeebs), BLM and SCH started casting enfeebs on the NM, forcing it to use Exuviation, as has been reported in the forums. After each Exuviation, the PLDs would start doing slight more damage. It progressed roughly this way: 1 dmg, 2 dmg, 4 dmg, 7 dmg and on until after the 7th Exuviation the PLDs were hitting for around 40-45 damage each swing. At this point, the DDs (didn't see the exact make up, but looked to be heavy on SAM, MNK, and WAR) that were standing by all came in and began WSing and melee. Fudo and Shoha from the SAMs were effective the entire fight. The group got the NM down to around 52 percent, and then it clearly changed (raged if we're going to call it that).
At this point, roughly 20 minutes, everyone started to miss a lot. Roughly 80 percent or more of their swings, to include WSs. The alliance never used enfeebs after the initial volley, so I have no idea if after the roughly 20 minute initial timeframe if forcing Exuviation will cause its defense and evasion to be lowered yet again. Fight took them about 45-55 minutes overall. I don't know exactly what food the PLDs ate, but will say one them got one shotted in the NMs "rage" mode. He just HP'd and came back out to avoid the weakened timer. Suggest that PLD try to have roughly 2200 HP based off what I saw.
On e it's in "rage" mode suggest everyone gets off it except for the PLDs. If DD all /SAM, then they don't have to melee, and can just come in to WS after meditating and having SCH give them TP. Even in rage mode, roughly half the WS would land, although at about half damage.
I know there isn't a terrible amount of detail in this post, but again, I just ran out there on the off chance that there might be a group doing the fight that I could hop in on with my NIN.
