MB Death Strategy

Strategy: Mages

  • Due to the extreme range of Clarsach Call spawning Teles at the #2 area is highly advised as it allows the group to abuse height-distance mechanics to avoid it.
  • Clarsach Call hitting the backline mages will generally result in a complete 1-shot kill of the entire backline, therefore spamming Stun after a Death volley until tanks can get Teles back is advised.
  • Multiple uses of Dispel is needed after Clarsach Call.
  • A strong Noctohelix II is useful for getting Teles closer to the next Special Ability threshold.
  • Scatter during the Dia and Mute auras and outrange their effects.

Strategy: Healers

  • Baraera on the tanks.
  • Try to position yourself within casting range of your designated tank while being out of range of Teles. This is easier said than done however, but do your best.
  • Reraise up at all times.
  • Sacrifice when Impact lands on your tank.
  • Clarsach Call is very dangerous but White Mage is likewise very much capable of surviving it. Shellra V and Stoneskin coupled with the new Inyanga set will likely let you survive it. Adding a Gelus Valiance from a Rune Fencer makes this a certainty. Baraera is helpful too.

Large group melee strategy

Teles is pretty easy with enough buffs and sufficiently geared melee. She can still screw you with terrible SP combinations, but it's much less common.

Group

  • Melee x2 (piercing DDs preferred)
  • THF/WAR x1
  • COR x1 (Chaos/Samurai)
  • GEO x1 (Attunement/Fury, Entrust Precision)
  • WHM x1 (Baraera, Boost-DEX, Auspice, Protect, Shell, Haste)
  • PLD x1 (or x2)
  • BRD x2 (SV CC Wind Carol x2, Fire Carol x2, Light Carol x2, March, Mad x2, Minuet)
  • GEO x2 (Frailty/Vex, Torpor/Attunement)

(Same setup as Large Group Albumen can work)

Fight

  • Get 3000 TP
  • Put up the buffs listed above. Make sure everyone has all carols and barspell.
  • Pop Teles
    • Immediately move Teles to a wall
    • Try to land Pining Nocturne
    • All GEOs use Bolster
  • When Vex/Attunement are up, start meleeing her to death
  • If you have two paladins, have one of them tank for the most part.
    • If she uses Soul Voice, counter with Charm Buffer immediately because she's going to spam virelai
    • Switch which Paladins is main tanking
    • With double Light Carols, it's pretty unlikely that both of your paladins would get charmed at once anyway.
  • If she uses Invincible, have your THF Larceny it
    • If she uses it again, suffer.

Notes

Teles goes down pretty smoothly and quickly with this setup and these buffs, with her SPs potentially messing everything up. Still, my group wins over 80% of the time with this setup.

Carol explanation:

  • Light Carol x2 - Protects against Charm
  • Fire Carol x2 - For Amnesia
  • Wind Carol x2 - Protects against her magic damage, including Clarsach Call

If you aren't doing anything silly, bad luck is the main thing that kills this kind of group. --Byrthnoth (talk) 07:25, 11 April 2017 (EDT)

SMN Burn

Aettir RUN, 4xSMN (non-Nirvana, mostly BiS otherwise), non-Idris GEO, drop Rostam COR

AFAC on 4 SMN, dead after about 10-11 VS. Could probably do it with 3 SMNs

If Invincible happens, you'll lose AFAC attacks. Try again another time on the easy button.

~1.13M HP

Aettir RUN, 3xSMN (non-Nirvana, BiS otherwise), non-Idris GEO, leeching/healer Rostam COR.

No Impact (Muted), no Armor Break (Lazy)

AFAC on 3 SMN, dead after about 12-13 VS.

~1.125M HP

Low man strat

Rune, Brd, Whm, Geo, Cor dropped after rolls.

x3 Tenebrae runes, entice was resisted by the rune, but a charm buffer is recommended. Songs were Honor March, Madrigal, x3 Minuet (whm capped haste). Sam/Chaos for rolls. GojirasCerb (talk) 19:54, 28 September 2023 (UTC)
