Template talk:NPC

From FFXI Wiki

The NPC header box tends to obscure the image on lower res screens (When I'm at work). At 1152 width, the box covers the image a fair bit. Would it be possible for you to reduce the width from 800 to 700 please. --Daniel 10:53, 25 September 2007 (CDT)

I can confirm from where I work that @ 1024x768 the |thumb| box starts to have issues. Mine is that the image covers the blue bar at the top. Maybe making the header a 60% of the page? That way it unless your running 800*600 (god help you) it looks uniform. See this.[1] @ 75% the table was getting covered by the image. --Apelila 07:39, 26 September 2007 (CDT)
Sure thing Daniel, I wasn't sure how much would have been too much. I believe a constant width would be best appropriate though. ~ Goddess ~ TalkContrib 08:00, 26 September 2007 (CDT)

Added effect: More information

I've been using the following for merchant NPC's, Feel free to use them if you create new NPC's to keep everything looking the same.

Also, since no subcategories really exist right now I've been creating them as I go along. It makes it hard to 'must' have to do something when there's nothing there to do it with ;)

Affiliation field?

There are a handful of NPC pages that mention "Jeuno (S)" in their Location field, which doesn't make much sense in the current implementation, as the zone doesn't actually exist, although it makes sense lore-wise. An Affiliation field could cover information like that for cutscene-only NPCs, and enrich other existing pages (for example, Aldo and Nanaa Mihgo could have their affiliation set to Tenshodo - which already exists as a category, and if it accepted multiple value could also accept the city where you find them, for example).
