It is about that holiday time, and you have been doing quite a large amount of work for the wiki. Thank you, and to show you our appreciation we would like to offer you a moderator status if you would like it. --Spicyryan (talk) 17:31, 22 December 2014 (EST)

I'd be happy to take it, thank you :) --Flaminglegion (talk) 04:18, 23 December 2014 (EST)

You are welcome. Welcome to the bureaucracy!
By the way out of curiosity I went and checked to see the Unity page on lolclopedia, and I have to say ours is very complete by comparison (a lot of something to a lot of nothing! :P) and I am sure this is helping others very much :) --Spicyryan (talk) 02:18, 24 December 2014 (EST)

TY

Thanks for your updates on those WotG quest pages! There's no need to be hesitant when you update (like the comment you made about needing to zone) - if it's something you did or tested and you're sure it's right, you can go ahead and make the change right away. I went ahead and did it for you there, just making a note for the future. --Slycer 15:08, 14 November 2012 (EST)

Ahh okay, wasn't sure if it needed proof/multiple confirms etc but wanted to add info! Shall do that instead of trying to discuss it haha, thanks! --Flaminglegion 00:53 15 Nobember 2012 (GMT)

Yep. BTW, if you want to sign a comment or edit on a talk page, you can just type "--~~ ~~" (without the space in the middle of the tildes) and it'll automatically sign without having to type it out. --Slycer 15:43, 16 November 2012 (EST)

TY for doing a lot of the December items. I am leaving the country tomorrow (well 1 am the day after tomorrow, but close enough) so I have been busy. I will keep a watch on the site as I always do while I am over seas for two weeks. --Spicyryan (talk) 21:35, 5 January 2015 (EST)

NP, I was looking into it before the Christmas break but didn't quite get there. I've done all the ones that were on the december updated items page now, the flags may need correcting as I was guessing for the most part, I guess there's another few fields in the proper csv. There are at least a few weapons that still need doing - the only ones I know about are the new Unity weapons and the leafkin boppers. Ffxiah has the new weapons and icons on their database now, maybe they use the same method and program or w/e to get the info from the dats and can help? Do you know if anybody is working on that and if not do you have any old copies of the stuff I can try to use? Doubt I'd succeed but might be worth a look! Spira's datmine appears to just return the dats related to models rather than all the icons and descriptions, they get a csv with the dat locations though, so maybe it comes from the same process or even program (ListXIUpdates) Spira's datmine guide Actually I guess it would make more sense for all the different info to be inside the same dat so it's probably more just extracting the specific information from the dat as that program can list which dats changed? I don't know things

I came across Category:Furnishing (401 in category) and Category:Furnishings (359 in category). The singular is coming from |type=Furnishing being used, and from the few I looked at the plural is coming from having Category:Furnishings added additionally. The ones I did look at also have Category:Item but this isn't necessary as it's inherited by using the item table. Change to |type=Furnishings, remove additional categories? ignore?

Hope you have a good trip --Flaminglegion (talk) 06:06, 6 January 2015 (EST)

(additional) - worked out how to get the info using POLutils (which has been updated and can display info for weapons too) but I can't see the description.png's, do you have any instructions about getting new item info you can copy/paste me? If I get all the info in this manner I'd be pretty slow at it, I don't see how to make my own lists so it'd be a one-by-one process. I can see how to compare lists to check what's new/changed but that doesn't give results in a list or exportable format it seems - probably user error :P I'll try more tomorrow --Flaminglegion (talk) 14:22, 6 January 2015 (EST)

I will shoot another email over, but it just looks discouraging at this point from the amount of time that has gone by. I will seek some options on the matter and see what the best course should be.

That furnishing thing looks like a fucking mess. No idea how that happened (well there was a switch somewhere), but yeah Furnishings LOOKS like the correct page from a quick visit of the two. However Brass Crock and stuff are newer and have the singular tag so no clue, but Furnishings is a populated page where the singular is not.

TY

If you go look back at the November update items I was having that same issue when it comes to images :P --Spicyryan (talk) 15:27, 6 January 2015 (EST)

Zone Pages

Thank you very much for fixing the broken templates on zone pages. It is something I have really wanted to do more of, but I have been either busy on other projects. --Spicyryan (talk) 11:52, 12 November 2014 (EST)

No worries, happy to do a few edits whilst I've got some free time, for clarification are the layouts okay? I followed the Selbina example for Mhaura but you also said to do it like Eastern Adoulin so I tried to do both on East/West Sarutabaruta so it can just be changed/deleted appropriately. Should the old zone header sections be removed completely? Flaminglegion (talk) 12:10, 12 November 2014 (EST)

IMO it is a bit tricky. Should it be removed? Yes, it is a double zone image and looks very out of place with its alignment etc. Yes the maps are in the connecting zones, but there isn't a hover over preview (that's out of my knowledge base for sure) so the thumbnail is tiny and there are maps to other zones mixed in that will confuse the easily confused. Sure the maps are at the bottom, but for a town or something having one at the very top is convenient. The lore is also nice.

What I will do is edit the zone header template a bit, but if I remove the image then all the pages currently not done (yeah, most) will now have no image. No that it really matters since they are psuedo-blank as it is despite that they are quick replace text in notepad++ fixes. Anyway, I can edit it to remove the image or move it left with the lore, but this require a secondary image for all pages. While this idea is a cool prospect for the aesthetics of wiki it is also a mass amount of work. For now I am thinking of making it a map image on the right beneath the new zone header with lore to the left with the rest of the page. I will try to get to that soon. I have a few things going on today and a lot tomorrow. For now you can remove them though once the new zone header from the adoulin era is in. Just make sure the zone maps are at the bottom of the page if they were only put in that old header.

This change would also mean simply ignoring blank pages, but just making the zone headers for each and moving on until those are done and then one day going back to the broken pages. I will help with this, and hopefully someone else will pop up to lend a hand since zones are really a bread and butter of wiki. --Spicyryan (talk) 16:34, 12 November 2014 (EST)
