Alexander

I was hoping to keep it to two Alexander pages. One for the server and one shared by both lore/avatar facts and the monster. The monster portion would be kept as a spoiler for a most part, under the lore/avatar portion.

Sorry about forgetting to sign my name. Uh, anyway, I think it would defeat the purpose to have the spoiler be the front page and the other details be behind it... for all avatar pages, I intend on putting some for of mention of their constellation, other areas in the game they are mentioned, and so on. So, yeah, having it something like Alexander/pagename could work, but I believe having the combat stats be that second page would be best(which would be linked from the mission page). This also would mean the page "Alexander (Monster)" wouldn't be needed. --BRP 19:38, 22 September 2007 (CDT)

Alexander is an avatar despite being unable to summon, in the same way Phoenix is(who has no monster form). The (Avatar) portion of the name is simply to point of the difference between the server and character. --BRP 19:54, 22 September 2007 (CDT)

Item Templates

Right now Taj and I are going through and getting Semantics to work in conjunction with the item templates. So it's pretty much:

Taj: Do this

TBR: Is it working now

Taj: I dunno

TBR: WTF Sundi?

But we're working it through.

Do you have AIM? Post it on my comments, and I'll remove it and add it to my AIM list :3 --Kelvanis 02:40, 25 September 2007 (CDT)

Assault Templates

Thanks very much for the improvements to the assault template. -- Vistani

Dunno what you wanted to put in the zone.jpg pics in the upper right corner of the assault template, but assuming you were thinking of a pic of the zone itself I thought that these black and white ones would look cool for Leujaoam and Mamool http://www.playonline.com/pcd/topics/ff11us/detail/2164/detail.html -- Vistani

Expertise!

This is RE: Expertise (You posted on my old talk page on the old wiki). Posted below to recap :):

I could use a little help working with the ParserFunctions on a template I'm making for merit points. To process the template I used it in my sandbox for testing and comparison.

I'd like to have it so that it will only insert table rows for lines that have parameters assigned. But apparantly <td> doesn't count as being nested inside a table and therefore transformed into &lt;td&gt;.. according to Wikimedia Help. I had some futher features to add to it, but didn't want to make it more complicated till I get a good base going.

Also couldn't seem to understand why the #switch was getting parsed outside the table.. I think that's the biggest problem. I figured you might know how to work this out, any ideas? ~ Goddess ~ TalkContrib 11:21, 14 September 2007 (CDT)

In short... I messed around trying to figure it out myself. Couldn't get it to work (Would have been helpful on my Job Progress template), and gave up.

Did you find anything on it yourself?

Oh, and thanks for the Icon thing... Didn't even know #lc existed. So much for expertise, lol. --Daniel 11:09, 25 September 2007 (CDT)

Missions

Standardize what? [1] 32 missions compared to 6 and the 6 being all composed by different people. It seems to me that what I have created thus far IS the standard as far as the missions are concerned.

My choices are:

  1. Complete the rest of the COP missions with the template I have been using against the mods wishes and let someone else edit them all, likely getting barred from editing in the future
  2. Use the new template making the recent additions not match up with the previous ones and leave the "standardizing" of my previous entries to someone else
  3. Edit all the previous missions into the new template and essentially redo all the work I've already done
  4. Stop contributing and remove what I have done so far.

Clicking the (Undo) link on the template page just seems to me like it will require the least amount of effort by everyone involved.

I appreciate all the work everyone puts into this and I really hope it succeeds so I apologize if I came across as a dick. It's already a lot of work for everyone, I'm just trying to lighten the load.

Sixtyonesix 04:55, 26 September 2007 (CDT)

It still seems like a lot of unneccesary work for you or me or whoever to edit those pages, all for what amounts to one, 2 line table being moved to the other side of the page. Looking through most of the other templates it appears that either of the mission templates fit into the general scheme of things just fine.
I just don't see what the new one does that the old one didn't, other than creating several hours worth of work for someone.
Sixtyonesix 05:30, 26 September 2007 (CDT)

In light of that last comment, I can see that this project is suffering from a severe case of "Too many Chiefs, not enough Braves" and because of that, I will have to choose option 4 (see above).
Sixtyonesix 06:17, 26 September 2007 (CDT)
Good Morning! I hope that you do not remove your content, as we truly value your contributions. Did I misunderstand and that you already have all the COP missions templated into the old format somewhere, and is just adding them in slowly into the wiki? If so, then please do go ahead with the old template. It doesn't take me long at all to go through and pop a few things into place once you're done. Part of the reason I left a note on your userpage was in case you didn't see the updated Template, not to berate you on using the old one. I felt bad that you put all that work in and that I'd go in and edit it in the future without your knowledge. Thank you again for all the work on the COP Section -Aquelia 10:56, 26 September 2007 (CDT)
I think it's too late Aquelia... I'll be working on them based on his old edits, which isn't so bad. Thanks for going MIA on me Rocl >.> ~ Goddess ~ TalkContrib 11:10, 26 September 2007 (CDT)

I do like the new template Goddess! should I keep coming to you with templates that I think need changing? I have quite the list but 95% of them are protected:sysop so I can't do them myself :( --Amele 12:31, 27 September 2007 (CDT)

Breaking Morale and other assaults

I notice you're moving the notes below the walkthrough. However, the notes are intended to apply to the monster table, not the walkthrough. So it should be moved back up. --Aurik 05:34, 26 September 2007 (CDT)

Also noticed you're fiddling with the formatting of the appraisal lists. Vistani and I have been working on it and had decided to leave the font unchanged, and simply give the unique appraisals a highlighted background, possibly a pale yellow. Also, you highlighted Spectacles as a unique appraisal under Lamia No. 13, when in fact it is not a rare/ex/unique appraisal. I fixed it once but you had changed it back, so I'm fixing it again.--Nekio 12:48, 26 September 2007 (EST)

Best hate in the game

I don't know if I agree with Best Hate in the Game being in Category:Game Mechanics. while it's true that hate mechanics are why redmage is the best hate in the game, the redirect isn't actually *about* technical game mechanics.

(that and I think it's weird to have a redirect in a category.)--Amele 21:53, 26 September 2007 (CDT)

Templates

goddess; I've been using: Special:UnusedTemplates as my touchstone for which ones are in most desperate need of 'fixing'/updating: since a template that doesn't actually have template functionality will always just be copy pasted instead, it'll never leave this list. I'll take a look tonight at which ones I want to work on first tonight; thanks for the link to the sysop list!--Amele 16:06, 27 September 2007 (CDT)

Just wondering which template you were wondering about? you need to use them to build table blocks inside {{#if:value|true|false}} because otherwise the | would be interpreted as the divider between the true and false cases; breaking the statement. I prefer to just use a straight | too, but for making optional row count templates, it really is necessary. --Amele 20:52, 6 October 2007 (CDT)
Ah ok, didn't realize it wasn't necessary inside [[]] while in a table too. thanks for the heads up!--Amele 13:31, 7 October 2007 (CDT)

C****M

lol........ all done dorkus :P removed from my talk per request. That's gotta be the oddest wording for a request I've ever seen yet!!!! /dies laughing. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Aquelia (talk • contribs) .

Template:Mercenary Ranks

I like the centering, the new border, the bold and the slightly darker title; but I think the background on each rank is too, hm. bright? electric? it looks kinda neon blue and I feel it's a little jarring compared to the desaturated blue we're using in the title line.--Amele 10:36, 6 October 2007 (CDT)

WSNM

Cause I plan on categorizing the weapon skills too. I was too tired to do any more this morning. --TtOaXrIuCTC 08:37, 7 October 2007 (CDT)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Happy Birthday Goddess <33 :) --Aquelia 16:48, 7 October 2007 (CDT)

Color

I'm not sure how our color text works. I can get it working with the examples on the template page, but is there a way to avoid bold for example? --BRP 15:36, 10 October 2007 (CDT)

Welcome Back!!

yayyyyyyyyyyyy wb! :) I figured you were busy, I saw you and Apelila in photos from fan fest! XD did you habs fun? how was it? Anyways, theres still al ot left to be done >< There has been a question of organization for Salvage section and also a furniture template (gotta check the bgwiki admin section of the forums, it lists what all we need in a furniture template to go along with the current pages), wanna work on those two? XD ty ty ty ! --Aquelia 10:26, 19 November 2007 (CST)

doh! hewp!

http://wiki.bluegartrls.com/Version_Update_%2811/19/2007%29 I was in the middle of doing that but I gotta run, at work right now and have a meeting, eb back when I get my next lull The preceding unsigned comment was added by Aquelia (talk • contribs) .

image delete tags

I can do that, sure. A request for you also, if you don't mind. I've been trying to get someone to look at a page I created a while back on my user page: User:Jerm/To_Fix but the two admins I sent the message to haven't gotten to it yet. While it's not entirely urgent, some of them have stopped me from editing pages of the type mentioned. Could you please check what I've written on there and maybe make a mark or a note next to it if you fix it?--Jerm 15:02, 11 January 2008 (EST)

About Images

the problem with uploading some images seems to be that you can't have certain characters in the filename, one of them is a colon. not sure what else there is that has problems yet.--Jerm 18:10, 12 January 2008 (EST)

Useless templates

I was requested to make those at some point or another :) but if no one is using them, they can be removed, but the pankration one, i think might be in use for this giant page that BRP was making. Aquelia 16:39, 19 February 2008 (EST)

Name Change

Thank you for the offer...I would like to change my name to my character name as well to "Revelations". I'm from the Gilgamesh server by the way if that matters. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Arthur Caine III (talk • contribs) .

Can I get my name changed to "Cloull"? Found it a little weird you wanted the real names of people, lol. Was hoping it could get changed after creation. <3 The preceding unsigned comment was added by Stephen (talk • contribs) .

Thanks very much for the offer, and I'll gladly accept! Username changed to the same as my character would be lovely (Kitha)! It was kinda confusing the way signing up asked for "real name" as the username, since there was a validity check. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kristopher Smith (talk • contribs) .

I would also like my user-name changed. (Hmkiroko) would be great. :) Thanks. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Drew Forward (talk • contribs) .

I would like my name changed to "Zadora" my character name. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gregory Suchanoff (talk • contribs) .

Could I get "Jabberwocky"? Thank you. -- Christopher Bauleke 19:02, 3 March 2008 (EST)

Could I possibly have my username changed to Pyro or if that isn't available, Dustypeaches? Thank you. Robert Ripley

Could you delete this name? I have the name "Drizz" registered, which I already use. I didn't realize this name ever was activated. Thanks! Anthony N

Would like my username changed to Grinshak, please. I also found the "real name" request a bit odd. Didn't realize that was the username. Thanks. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mike C (talk • contribs) .

Please change my username to Wolflord. Thanks in advanced!--Zen McGown 14:50, 9 April 2008 (EDT)

Would you please change my username to my character name: Evion. Thanks, Scott Thomas Blackburn.

I read your message and I'd love to have my username changed to my character name, Ozulus. Thank you. Tiago Guichard

Can you change my name to Dylon. Thanks -- Adhem Ally

I saw your message and would love to have myname changed to "Burizado", which is my character name on Fenrir. -- Kyle Bailey

Got your message and would like my username changed to match my character on the fairy server "Aenemy" thanks appreciate it. Angel Vega

Actually, Finbar is already my username as you assumed (guess I did have the presence of mind not to use my real name), so if you have the ability, you should delete or discontinue this username and subsequent profile. -- Drew McClain

Got your message and would like to change my username to my character name Doebie please. Thanks Doebie 08:34, 10 August 2008 (EDT) User: Bernard Higgins

No clue how to do this here >.< anyway can you change my name to Bercus please.

Stubs

Goddess, Would Stub|quest wind up in a sub category of stubs? I wanted to have a separate space to try to have the quests sorted out and worked on as quickly and efficiently as possible. I actually have a master plan that would utilize this. ;) -Septimus 1:55, 4 August 2008 (EST)

P.S. One of these days I need to make a fancy signature. :(

NM's

  • I noticed that but the NM template has a useless spot for a map, which is pointless for Campaign enemies and I figured it wouldnt matter seeing as how they have no loot pool like proper NM's. I wouldn't mind adding the NM tags to em though if you think I should. I hadn't considered it.Gwyn 19:33, 2 September 2008 (EDT)
  • Wait, so change the campaign mobs to the NM template, or add just the NM tag?Gwyn 20:01, 4 September 2008 (EDT)
  • Hm ok. I toyed around with the first one, I think I did it right. I'll try to adjust them one of these days before the next update.Gwyn 21:00, 4 September 2008 (EDT)

Welcome Back

  • See heading!
  • Haha, not really. Someone emailed me, for some services, so I did. :) I haven't played since '08, tried FFXIV for Beta and 3 months after release, but couldn't find time to keep up with playing with work. I have since then got another job (Sr. Web Developer for a very reputable company) that pays 25 times as much. But if there's anything (technical, or template-makingesque) on here that needs my attention, I still get emails for my talk page and the email user link. Hope all is well here on BGWiki! :D ~ Goddess ~ TalkContrib 20:15, 11 July 2011 (EDT)
