Neat, now Reddit isn't the only place I can point people to when stating such a strategy exists. I wonder if there's an outline of a strategy to do all major story content (ex.: start CoP during the nation mission that takes you to Delkfutt, working on Zilart missions at the same time as post-ShadowLord mission that take you to its regions, etc...). Speed Runs only during chain exp blah?

I'm bigly into speed runs of other games not so much into FFXI but doing speed runs during certain events is imo about the same as speed runs that require TAS , Amiibos or even the "turbo" button. Maybe you should think about doing runs during none special events to give people something to compete against if you want this to take off. Just cause you prepped all year for this window of opportunity don't mean you'll hit a PB or WR during it. • PB - Personal Best Time
• WR - World Record Time
• TAS - Tool Assisted Run (a computer program helps or does the whole run)

• A lot would say what we do on the wiki is dumb yet we do it and we enjoy it or even though the people that still play FFXI are far less. There is a way bigger speed running community then there is FFXI.
  • I know you personally enjoy the NFL well guess what esports has a much more growing viewer ship then most sports combined. What is dumb to one group isn't to another.
    • I grew up in the era of action sports (bmx, skateboarding, snowboarding, inline skating) and find them much more interesting the conventional sports even though I like watching the NFL I rather watch someone perform a 720 on skateboard 90% of the time.
