Eligibility Requirements
- Be of a main job level of 99.
- Character for whom at least 45 days have passed since creation.
- Between 1 and 6 players may participate.
- The time limit is 30 minutes.
DISCLAIMER: This is only to buy the marbles but you can still enter the battlefield say if you get one from Mog Bonanza
Getting Started
- Set the Records of Eminence objective “Exploring the Trove”, located under Tutorial > Basics.
- Speak with Greyson in Lower Jeuno and exchange Silver A.M.A.N. Vouchers for a Mars or Venus Orb.
- The number of vouchers that must be traded vary by orb type.
- Mars Orbs cost 6 vouchers, and Venus Orbs cost 10.
- Venus Orbs provide a greater chance at higher quality items.
- Trade one of the aforementioned orbs to the burning circle located in either Horlais Peak,Waughroon Shrine, or Balga's Dais and enter the battlefield.
- At this time, there does not appear to be any difference between these zones and possible rewards. Rewards only depend on the orb used and messages received.
Basics
Each battlefield contains ten wooden chests and one gold chest.
- Wooden Chests
- If you strike it lucky with a wooden chest, you will receive an additional item drop when you clear the content.
- If you are unlucky, all the treasure chests will vanish and you will have to engage in combat against a fierce mimic.
- If you best the mimic, the gold treasure chest will appear once more and you may open it to clear the battlefield.
- Gold Chests
- Opening the gold chest will complete the battlefield, and you will receive a number of spoils proportional to the number of wooden chests you have opened.
- If an item with the Rare attribute would drop but you already possess that item, it will not appear in the list of spoils and there will be no system log to notify you of this.
The Battle
If the incorrect chest is selected, a Mimic named Chest O'Plenty spawns. This also causes all other chests to despawn. This monster must now be defeated in order to obtain the items from this BCNM instance.
- Has approximately 2,500,000 HP.
- Every 25% (100%, 75%, 50%, and 25%) it uses the move Ka-thwack, which is AoE instant death.
- This damage is negated similar to Odin from Dynamis - Divergence and the Master Trial by having Reraise on. It then deals AoE magical damage instead.
- Goddess' Hymnus does not count as Reraise negation.
- This damage is negated similar to Odin from Dynamis - Divergence and the Master Trial by having Reraise on. It then deals AoE magical damage instead.
- Uses the TP move Gilded Torpor
- Uses the TP move Double Whammy
- Casts Death. A Death resist set does not seem to help against it effectively.
- Spell casting can be interrupted. This includes avoiding DoT spells and casting Lullaby while the chest is casting to effectively sleep it.
- Draws-in party members, which can be avoided by being far enough away.
- Has an incredibly large range on its AoE moves (50 Yalms+).
It is possible to proc this monster.
Rewards
There are three possible messages that may be obtained when opening a wooden chest. Rewards seem to be tied to the message obtained, but all three types of messages are not guaranteed during every instance. Also, they dont mean that tier of loot is guaranteed.
Mars Orb
You hear a noise, as if a large amount of spoils spontaneously appeared.
- The most common message. Possible rewards include: Synthesis Materials (including Voidwatch), Scrolls, Freyed/Worn Sacks of any kind, JSE Armor upgrade materials, etc.
You hear a thud, as if a large amount of spoils spontaneously appeared.
- This message seems to be connected to event based loot, including: Geas Fete equipment, High-Tier Mission Battlefield drops, Vagary drops, Omen bodies/hands, Tartarus Platemail, and more.
You hear a loud thud, as if a large amount of spoils spontaneously appeared.
- This message seems to be connected to rare event based loot. Increasing the odds of obtaining drops such as Omen bodies/hands, and Tartarus Platemail over an ordinary thud.
5,000,000 Gil
- There is a rare chance to obtain 5,000,000 gil as a bonus reward upon opening the Terminal Coffer, regardless of the "sound" the chests produced.
Venus Orb
You hear a noise, as if a large amount of spoils spontaneously appeared.
You hear a thud, as if a large amount of spoils spontaneously appeared.
- Possibility of a 5 million Gil additional reward when completing the BCNM after opening the middle chest.
- Message obtained: You receive ≺Numeric Parameter 0≻ gil as a bonus reward!
You hear a loud thud, as if a large amount of spoils spontaneously appeared.
