Rasp GUI.png Black Mage has access to six elemental magic spells frequently referred to as elemental debuffs, one associated with each element except light and dark.

  • Elemental Debuffs have two effects: they reduce one enemy attribute, corresponding to the element weak to the debuff, and they yield a Damage Over Time effect at 3 second ticks.
    • Element: Thunder Level 16: Shock - Reduces target MND
    • Element: Earth Level 18: Rasp - Reduces target DEX
    • Element: Wind Level 20: Choke - Reduces target VIT
    • Element: Ice Level 22: Frost - Reduces target AGI
    • Element: Fire Level 24: Burn - Reduces target INT
    • Element: Water Level 27: Drown - Reduces target STR
  • The stat reduction and DoT correspond directly to the caster's INT (see the table below).
  • Non-opposing elemental debuffs can be stacked, so up to three elemental debuffs can be active at once on a particular enemy (others will have no effect or overwrite currently effective elemental debuffs, depending on elemental ascendancy).
