Elemental Debuffs is a category of Black Mage specific Elemental Magic spells that deal no base damage in exchange for reducing the target's Base Stat, corresponding to the element weak to the debuff, and a small Damage Over Time effect at 3 second ticks for a base of 90 seconds which can be extended by Merit Point. The stat reduction and DoT correspond directly to the caster's INT, and is independent of the target's INT.

  • Non-opposing elemental debuffs can be stacked, allowing up to three elemental debuffs to be active at one time on a particular enemy (others will have no effect or overwrite currently affecting elemental debuffs, depending on elemental ascendancy).
    • Rasp (-DEX), Drown (-STR), and Frost (-AGI) can be applied simultaneously.
    • Shock (-MND), Burn (-INT), and Choke (-VIT) can be applied simultaneously.
  • With >150 total INT and 5/5 duration and 5/5 potency merits: Elemental Debuffs will reduce a Base Stat by -23, and deal 10 HP/tick over the course of 150 seconds for a total of 500 damage.
    • With the above and the Archmage's Sabots +3 equipped: Elemental Debuffs will reduce a Base Stat by -53, and deal 25 HP/tick over the course of 150 seconds for a total of 1250 damage.
