Map of Incursion

Introduced in Seekers of Adoulin, Incursions are high level, instanced end-game battle events. The primary rewards from Incursions are unique weapons and armor as well augmented JSE capes. Adventurers delve into the nests of Velkks fighting off the hordes within to obtain the caboodle of treasure amassed in coffers by the Velkk themselves.

Incursion was introduced in the September 9, 2014 update [1]

Getting Started

Eligibility Requirements

In order to participate, players must satisfy the following:

  • Seekers of Adoulin expansion pack installed and registered
  • 3-18 alliance members at level 95 or above
  • Alliance leader must possess a Velkk fetish key item

Velkk fetish is obtained by defeating Velkk in Marjami Ravine.

Incursion is entered via the Weathered Canvas (I-11) in Marjami Ravine.

Content Level

Incursion starts at content level 123 and may be raised up to 140.

Raising the content level required obtaining the key items from each of the Velkk Notorious Monsters within Incursion. Once all six key items have been obtained you may speak with Grrk-Frut the Charlatan (I-11) in Marjami Ravine to exchange all six key items for a one level increase in your Incursion entry.

Incursion level may be lowered (to a minimum of 123) by speaking with Veldeth (L-7) at the frontier station in Marjami Ravine.

Progression

Entering Incursion will take you to Cirdas Caverns (U). There is a 45 minute time limit. Within there are many normal enemies and six Velkk notorious monsters to defeat. The NMs will drop key items to each player present for its defeat. There are 6 key items:

Once you have obtained an NM's key item you will be able to use the Rusted Transmitter to warp near to that NM. The transmitters may also be used to warp back to the entry position. If an alliance lead has a key item then the entire alliance will be able to use the Rusted Transmitter to warp to that NM even if the party member doesn't have that key item.

Raising the level of Incursion requires all six key items from the Incursion notorious monsters. Speaking with Grrk-Frut the Charlatan (I-11) next to the Weathered Canvas will allow you to trade in your key items for a level increase of Incursion when you enter. Only the alliance leader needs to turn in the key items to increase the level. If a party member has increased their Incursion level and participates in an Incursion at a lower content level they will not obtain key items from the NMs. Raising the Incursion level will increase the Capacity Points earned as well as the the quality of the rewards and quantity of coffer drops.

  • Warps from the Rusted Transmitter will be lost and need to be re-obtained regardless if other members have the key items or not.

Monsters

Inside, monsters have a large aggressive range of 30 yalms. Notorious Monsters helpers are non-aggressive. Nothing links.

Each Notorious Monster has its own unique behavior, a one-hour, and two lesser notorious monsters assistants attached to them which also have a one-hour based on their varying jobs.

The following Notorious Monsters are contained withing Incursion. Reference their pages for specific information:

Rewards

All enemies within Incursion have a chance to drop one or more Velkk Coffers. These coffers do not go in to the treasure pool but instead are put directly into each players' inventory. Conditions for receiving a coffers vary.

  • Entering at an increased difficulty will increase the number of coffers which drop by one per mob per level above the original level of 123.
  • Everyone participating in the event will receive the coffer at once.
  • Treasure hunter has an effect on the drop rate for receiving coffers.

Notorious monsters will drop coffers with their name on it. There are two types of coffers, a normal coffer and a 'Grand' coffer. Grand coffers have higher quality rewards. Named coffers a have higher quality reward then non-named coffers.

To obtain your rewards you must use the coffers like other consumables (food, clusters, etc.). Types of rewards vary from small amounts of gil and synthesis materials to Incursion-specific weapons, armor, and augmented back pieces. The back pieces include JSE Capes and the Mecistopins Mantle which can be augmented with Capacity point bonus up to 65%. The JSE Capes from Velkk Coffers are augmented with stats specific for the job automatically when the coffer is opened, and the reported augments and ranges can be found on the JSE Capes page.
