Master Trials are incredibly challenging battle content against the most powerful notorious monsters seen to date intended for those who are able to stretch the limits of their jobs to their utmost.

New types of battlefields will be added in subsequent version updates.

Getting Started

Eligibility Requirements

Attained level of 99 and the Job Master title.

Players must have achieved job master status in the job they desire to play in the content.

Completion of Rhapsodies of Vana’diel Missions.

Entry and Progression

Form a party of between three and six players.
One player must be in possession of the entry item (see below).

Trade the treatise to the Runic Seal in Alzadaal Undersea Ruins (I-9) to enter the battlefield.
The time limit is sixty minutes.
Players may remain in the area for three minutes after the battle has ended.
Players will exit the arena once the time limit is reached or upon use of the Undersea Ruins Fireflies temporary item.

Helmwige - Uses Elemental Sforzo and Chainspell.

WS: Vorpal Blade, Chant Du Cygne, Requiescat, Sanguine Blade

Ortlinde - Uses Elemental Sforzo and Chainspell.

Grimgerde - Uses Benediction. Horde Lullaby II will reset hate on all mobs that have been touched.

WS: Entropy, Shadow of Death, Quietus, Infernal Scythe

Schwertleite - Uses Elemental Sforzo and Chainspell.

Spells: Silencega, Blindga, Graviga, Paralyga, Slowga
WS: Requiescat, Sanguine Blade, Vorpal Blade, Chant du Cygne

Rossweisse, Siegrune, Gerhilde, Brunhilde - Each can use Mighty Strikes and Invincible multiple times.

WS: Stardiver, Camlann's Torment, Raiden Thrust, Sonic Thrust

Waltraute - Uses Benediction.

Spells: Magic Finale, Valor Minuet V, Valor Minuet IV, Advancing March, Vicotry March
WS: Quietus, Entropy, Infernal Scythe, Shadow of Death

Alexander - Mega Holy (AoE light damage, can close skillchain to make light)

Will use Perfect Defense below 50%.

Odin - Dread Spikes, Ofnir (Closes Reverberation), Valfodr (AoE Silence/Curse).

When Alexander dies, and freely thereafter, will use Shin Zantetsuken(20' death. If player has reraise, they will instead take ~1000 magical damage and lose reraise.)
Once other mobs are dead, gains Additional Effect: Chainbound and Gagnrath(AoE Stun/Damage).
Below 75%, gains Geirrothr(7500 physical damage divided between targets within 20').
Below 50%(?), gains Zantetsuken Jin(20'+ cone death. Blocked by utsusemi.)
