Introduced in the December 2014 Update[1], Superior Equipment is a designation for all non-cursed craftable Item Level 119 armor and weapons that may be bought on the auction house, traded, and otherwise exchanged.
A player must have a certain Superior level designation conferred from spending the appropriate amount of Job Points in order to equip the analogously marked armor and weapons.
A 『Su1』, 『Su2』, or 『Su3』 is displayed on the item description at the top middle, after the slot, race and gender requirements, if a piece requires a Superior designation to use.
