A Cavernous Maw in the present.

A Cavernous Maw in the past and in Abyssea.

Cavernous Maws are devices used to travel between worlds. The player must possess a Pure white feather to be able to utilize Cavernous Maws.

Shadowreign/Present-Day Maws

Each device only becomes active for the player after being used in the Shadowreign era. Unlocking all of them will allow for easy access to Shadowreign areas.

Present-Day

• Sauromugue Champaign: J-10
• East Ronfaure: H-4
• Jugner Forest: H-11
• Batallia Downs: H-5
• North Gustaberg: K-7 (south side)
• Pashhow Marshlands: K-8 (west side)
• Rolanberry Fields: H-6

Shadowreign

• West Sarutabaruta (S): H-9
• Meriphataud Mountains (S): K-6
• Sauromugue Champaign (S): Southwest corner of K-9

• It is located on the higher ground which can be accessed only from going through Garlaige Citadel (S).

• East Ronfaure (S): H-4
• Jugner Forest (S): H-11

• It can only be reached by going east from G-9 (past the Telepoint).

• Batallia Downs (S): H-5
• North Gustaberg (S): K-7 (south side)
• Pashhow Marshlands (S): K-8 (west side)
• Rolanberry Fields (S): H-6

Vana'diel/Abyssea Maws

These devices are always active and allow access into and out of Abyssea areas. After a particular maw is utilized once, it may be traveled to via Abyssea Service NPCs located in cities.
