Magic Evasion
From FFXI Wiki
Target Magic Evasion is compared to Caster's Magic Accuracy to determine Resist rate, or Resist state distribution in the case of spells with resist states. In general, +1 Magic Evasion = +1% Resist rate.
Magic Evasion is the sum of several quantities, and is poorly characterized. Here is what we know is included:
- Magic Evasion from gear/Atma
- Elemental Resistance gives 1 Magic Evasion for the appropriate element
- Because of this, Magic Evasion+N on gear can be treated like All Resistances+N
- Characters are given a hidden "Magic Evasion" trait that's treated like a C skill
- Gaining 5 levels would gain you 30 resistance, then.
- Approximately correct, but not necessarily correct. As low as 4 Magic Evasion/level has been suggested.
- dSTAT factors into the comparison between Magic Evasion and Magic Accuracy.
- Effect is explained on the Magic Accuracy page. Only considered once.
