• Reduces damage by a set amount (F), which depends on Enhancing Magic skill, and caps at 500, which gives -35 damage:
  • Up to 300 skill: F = Floor(Enhancing Magic Skill/10) - 2
  • Over 300 skill: F = 28 + Floor( (Enhancing Magic Skill - 300.5) / 28.5)

Example: With a phalanx potency of 20. A hit for 100 damage from an attack would become 80 damage.

• Phalanx enhancing gear is added directly to this damage.
  • The target of the Phalanx spell (including in cases of Accession Phalanx) must be wearing the Phalanx enhancing gear to benefit from its effects.
  • Overshooting or undershooting a enhancing skill tier does not provide any benefit due to the equation flooring the section where enhancing skill is divided.
    • 410 enhancing skill would still only provide -31 as per the 386 skill tier.
