Fight Notes

  • Fight notes (Ramzii, BG)
  • Additionally, gains access to Phaetosynthesis (AoE Regen) at night, and might level up when the Regen wears off or is removed. --Byrthnoth (talk) 00:44, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
    • It is pretty safe to engage this guy at night and wipe as long as you re-engage and fight him for real (Phase 2 below) after 6:00. --Byrthnoth (talk) 07:34, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

6-man fight strategy

This strategy worked for us on our first clear, so honor march was not required.

Group: RUN/BLU (Ergon), SCH, GEO/WHM (Ergon), BLM/SCH, BLM/SCH, BRD/BLM (me) : All Job Mastered

Phase 1 (foreplay):

  • Everyone puts up reraise. You can buff for funsies before pop.
  • RUN tanks and you keep them alive.
  • BRD uses Troub Horde Lullaby 2 for the first set of adds (30:00)
  • BRD uses ES Horde Lullaby 2 for the second set of adds (28:00)
  • Someone wakes up the monster at the third set of adds (26:00) and you wipe.
  • Reraise up and eat food.

Phase 2 (the fight after the wipe):

  • RUN/BLU - keep up cocoon if possible, abuse Battuta, keep in mind that he hate resets with Petal Pirouette and you're frequently either going to be silenced or amnesiaed or something when he does. Bring Holy Water, Remedies, and Panaceae
  • GEO/WHM - Languor/Focus and main heal with a serious Cursna set. Entrust Malaise when available, which includes the start. Bolster for the initial pull when the SCH is burning strats.
  • SCH - Make Compression whenever Death is up or Liquiefaction when it's not. Burn Strats ASAP at the beginning and then use TR to recharge/spam. Take a brief break to up Embrava for fun. After all strats are burned, use a Revit and keep going. After that, skillchain as fast as possible.
  • BLM/SCHs - Coordinate who is MBing Death first and stick to it. The goal is to zerg it hard during the initial bolstered bit post-pull. Abuse Enmity Douse and Mana Wall. Coordinate who is ES Breakga-ing. Order for Breakga should be something like BLM 1 -> BLM2 -> BLM2 Revit -> BLM2 -> BLM1 -> BLM1 Revit -> BLM1
  • BRD/BLM - Your duty is crowd control/coordination/songs
    • Buff the party with SV/CC/N/T songs (Bal x3/Mar x2) before pull and make sure it has been at least 40 seconds before you pull Albumen by Horde Lullaby II-ing his adds. After that, put Pining Nocturne and Fire Threnody 2 on Albumen. Foe Requiem VII sticks easily, Carnage Elegy has stuck for me ~twice.
    • Each time you sleep the monster, call out a time (song duration -15 seconds) for your BLMs to Breakga. Remind them.
    • With all the duration gear in the game that you can use while /BLM, your Horde II durations should be 6:51 for CC/Troub, 5:51 for Troub/Marcato, and 2:46 for ES.
    • Order is CC/Troub -> ES -> Troub/Marcato -> Revit -> Troub/Marcato -> ES (honestly you'll probably time out first)
  • Everyone - coordinate AOE TP wings, Mana Mist / Mana Powder, etc. to keep the BLM MP up.

That's pretty much it. We did about 50% damage in the first 6 minutes after pull, and did the rest of the damage more slowly over the next ~12 minutes because we were out of strats/SPs. --Byrthnoth (talk) 07:34, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

Lullaby II Duration

The longest duration I obtained was 7:24 as Master.

  • Carhwenhan 119
  • Empyrean body 119
  • Artifact hands 119
  • Empyrean neck
  • Ambuscade legs +1
  • Relic feet 119
  • Troubadour
  • Marcato for 20 seconds
  • Clarion call for 40 seconds
  • Lullaby jp for 20 seconds
  • Blurred Harp +1 for Lullaby +4 and AoE range

Soul voice cancels Marcato I believe

7-man setup (melee) w/ outside buffs

Aettir RUN/WAR, Ragnarok WARx2, Yagrush WHM, R/M/E BRD, Idris GEOx2

We used outside cor for rune fencer roll + crook acc. Crook rune fencer might be a better idea to ensure full resist during petalback.

To start off:

  • One of the GEO goes BRD/NIN SV/clarion 4 songs Fire carol x2/Earth carol x2 (amnesia/petrify), then warps, changes back to GEO. Generally songs will last 9min without mythic dagger.
  • Main BRD does SV/clarion v.march/madrigalx2/minuetx2. Once done, will drop, invite outside COR for wild card to reset T/N (and hopefully SV), then be in 2nd party solo.
  • WHM does barfira/baramnesra/boost-dex
  • All melees use miso ramen for defense/meva
  • GEO1: Bolster +meva/-macc entrust -eva
  • GEO2: BoG -def/+atk entrust +acc

During fight:

  • At start, BRD should T/N before pop. After pop, due to claim delay, waiting a second or two is advised. Horde Lullaby II once a second or two has passed.
    • Adds will use their 1-hours roughly 5 seconds after pop, including Mijin Gakure.
  • At start, RUN can pop One for All to counter Mijin if BRD hits the claim delay (where they act too quickly on pop and their action gets canceled). RUN can keep batutta up to ensure melee attacks does nothing to him, outside counters.
  • WARs took it steady and saved mighty strikes till after 2nd set of adds are out.
    • WARs should turn after petalback in case of hate reset if HP down is on. Counters can mean instant death. Hybrid advised after a hate reset (if debuffs aren't fully resisted).

We anticipated a wipe so the 2nd GEO didn't bolster. You can judge for yourself whether you will kill fast enough. After 2nd set of adds were slept, he was already at 37%, so we just went all out and raced for the win.

Large Group fight strat

This is a strategy designed for a large group. You can either start the fight by dying after Albumen spawns 12 mandies as outlined above, or attempt to fight without a wipe as suggested below. Dying is the safer way to go, but if you're tight on time (after 13:00), you should probably either fight without a wipe or wait 40 minutes.

Group

  • 2x melee
  • 1x BLU/BLM (set Entomb)
  • 1x GEO/WHM (Fury/Geo-Attunement, Entrust Precision)
  • 1x COR (Chaos/Samurai)
  • 1x WHM (Barfira, Auspice, Boost-DEX, Prot, Shell, Baramnesra, Haste)
  • 1x BRD/BLM, 1x BRD/WHM (N/T SV CC March, Ice Carol x2, Fire Carol x2, Dark Carol x2, Madrigal x2, Wind Carol)
  • 1x PLD/BLU
  • 1x PLD/WAR
  • 2x GEO/WHM (Attunement/Torpor, Frailty/Vex, Entrust Haste)

Fight

  • Get 3000 TP
  • Buff as outlined above, with WHM buffs on everyone, COR buffs on the melee, and WHMs, PLDs, GEOs, and melee getting all songs.
  • Pop Albumen.
    • Wait for the 4 adds to spawn and then Horde Lullaby II them with N/T still up. Wait until after claim delay. It isn't important to note the duration this time.
    • Using Pining Nocturne on Albumen doesn't hurt. Carnage Elegy is very hard to land, but also worth a shot.
  • When Vex and Attunement are up, melee should engage and start going to town while the rest of the debuffs (Dia II, Frailty, Torpor, etc.) are applied.
    • The melee GEO and the Frailty/Vex tank party GEO should open with Bolster. In an ideal world, when Bolster wears off the tank party GEOs will switch spells and the other will bolster. The melee party GEO should switch to BoG for Attunement when Bolster wears off and use a Super Revitalizer to keep it and entrusted precision up.
  • One BRD needs to sleep the 4 adds that will spawn at 28:00 with ES Horde Lullaby II.
    • The BRD should use Super Revitalizer to restore Nightingale, Troubadour, and Elemental Seal at this point.
  • The BLU/BLM needs to Petrify all the adds, including those that spawn at 26:00, with Elemental Seal Entomb.
    • After they are petrified, the BRD/BLM should use Nightingale, Troubadour, and Horde Lullaby II the petrified mandies. Note the time.
    • This is another opportunity to stick Pining Nocturne / Carnage Elegy.
  • If necessary, the BLU/BLM should use Super Revitalizer and re-petrify the mandies using ES Entomb near the end of the Bard's sleep duration.
    • If you have been doing damage the entire time, this will probably be unnecessary.

Notes

If you have sufficient buffs and are fighting in the daytime, then the biggest problem with Albumen is keeping hate on the tank. Petalback Spin will wipe the target's hate, so using two tanks is vastly superior to only bringing one. Albumen will also go out of his way to paralyze, silence, and amnesia your tanks, meaning their magic evasion is almost as important as your melees'. The tanks need to be kept relatively debuff-free so they are free to spike their hate (Provoke+Flash, Palisade, etc.) after they are reset. Some job combinations (NIN/WAR, DNC/DRG, THF/WAR) also allow for the redirection or reduction of enmity without major sacrifices.

As for the Carols:

  • Fire Carols are to resist Amnesia
  • Dark Carols are to resist Doom
  • Ice Carols are to resist Paralysis
  • Wind Carol is to resist silence. You could consider replacing the Madrigals with Wind Carol II and Scherzo on the tanks if your Bard is particularly with-it.

In a group this large and with this buffs, hate getting out of control or mandragoras using Mijin Gakure are the two things that will kill you. Attentive tanks (and a bit of luck) defeats the first, and attentive BRDs+BLU (and a bit of luck) defeats the second. --Byrthnoth (talk) 02:58, 11 April 2017 (EDT)

18 man "We Need to Get Everyone and Their Mule Clear" Strat:

Basically similar to strats above.

1st party- DD DD GEO COR BRD/BLM WHM

2nd party- DD DD GEO COR BRD/BLM WHM

3rd party- RUN RUN GEO COR WHM (whatever)

Bard1 does 2xMarch, Minuet, Madrigal, Dark Carol. Bard2 does 2xFire Carol, 2xIce Carol, Dark Carol II. GEO1 does Geo-Frailty, GEO2 does Geo-Torpor, GEO3 does Geo-Vex. All three GEOs use Indi-Fury and Entrust Indi-Attunement. WHMs Boost-STR (or DEX, for light DDs) and Barfira/Baramnesra.

Usual Albumen pop, bard preps with JAs, Assassin's Drink, Elemental Seal. ~2 seconds after Albumen pops sleep adds. From there it's an all-out zerg. You have 120s to kill Albumen. Melee need to use temps and rune fencers alternate Odyllic Subterfuge. WHM can Asylum after temps/Odyllic wear. DDs need to beware Counter. With the improvements to dps this method is pretty foolproof. Albumen will have a LOT of HP so of course DDs need to be well-geared and prepared. --Safiyyah (talk) 23:43, 4 November 2019 (EST)

  • Why do you only have 2 minutes to defeat Albumen? With even a single BRD/blm you should get far beyond that time to beat it via JAs on pop, a revit, then assasin's with ES on the third pop 6 minutes in. You should have about 7 minutes total.
Most groups are not going to even get close in 2 minutes, especially with all that extra dead weight. --Spicyryan (talk) 19:23, 5 November 2019 (EST)
