Regarding the recent changes Positron made to the Cleric's cap augment values, I felt there needed to be something to document why this needed to change.

Using the 57.5% value listed for head+5/5 merits in the gear table, the results were vastly off.

  • 3254 HP, 5/5 merits+Relic aug. 3254x0.575=1871.05. Observed result: 1382
  • 3248 HP, 5/5 merits,No relic. 3248x0.45=1461.6. Observed result: 974

The issue here was that additional merits, and the relic augment do not apply to the HP conversion value. And you don't lose more HP with them. Like the merits say, "Increase amount of MP granted". The 20% from merits applies to the MP value after HP conversion.

The Augment values had to be updated because the 2.5% per merit is what you get when you try to apply the increase in MP recovery to the HP conversion. So the actual increase in MP restored is 10% per merit. This is also important because the old method made the augment look weak next to the base merit values, when the reverse is true.

Adjusted like this, the values match.

  • Relic head: 3254x0.25=x1.7=1382
  • No head: 3248x0.25x1.2=974
