== Grunt Heard 'Round the World ==

I'm on the RoE quest (#4), played the game once, and [[Runje Desaali]] won't sell me the KI Grunt Heard 'Round the World. What's the catch?

Leafkin Bopper/+1

During the third Record of Eminence for this quest line, Palomel mentions the Leafkin Bopper when you are sent to obtain the Copse Candy. Does equipping the Leafkin Bopper prevent the candy from getting stolen? --Rosalie (talk) 20:30, 4 August 2016 (UTC)

That would be an interesting idea, and I wouldn't be surprised as copse candy was originally just from Login Campaigns.... But it would require many people testing it to verify without an official word... and we couldn't rule out placebo effects too. (as I never had mine stolen) -- FaeQueenCory (talk) 10:50, 11 February 2017 (EST)

Doesn't seem like it helps. I talked to Palomel and when she mentioned it, I equipped mine and still lost a bunch of candy. --Rwolf (talk) 21:08, 7 July 2017 (UTC)

Candy

After having 6 candies (from login points) stolen from me in a row with Runje walking up with her leafkin (I even zoned before trying the 6th). I decided to go talk to her and do the quest to see if that was required because of people like me who held these candies for over a year in their inventory.

So, I went and did this part of the quest with the nectar and what not. I also agreed to buy one even though I had one left. My next trade was successful. It may be required to do this leg of the quest. --Spicyryan (talk) 18:50, 12 April 2017 (EDT)

I'm going to agree that it's likely required. I used 7 candies from a past login and stolen each time. Caved and did the part with the Jungle Nectar and my next trade was successful. --Rwolf (talk) 21:20, 7 July 2017 (UTC)

I attempted to buy the candy for 100,000 Bayld right off the bat. She tried giving it to me, then said they were all stolen. I ended up having to retrieve the Nectar for her, and then bought one for 10,000. I traded it to Roskin with no issues and continued the quest. Funkworkz (talk) 12:30, 8 July 2017 (EDT)

Confirming that you do have to go through the hassle of getting the candy from her. It's too much of a coincidence not to be. --Tarage (talk) 23:02, 16 January 2018 (EST)

Trade/Exchange

Is it possible to exchange / trade your HQ version from this quest, as one can the NQ version (from the previous version)? --Ibhalliwell (talk) 01:09, 13 May 2017 (EDT)

Million dollar question. Who wants to drop their ring and find out?! --Spicyryan (talk) 03:44, 13 May 2017 (EDT)

I totally agree! I've gotten my two bronze KIs and working on the two silver KIs and the work is great, rewarding, and a lot of it! I wonder if SE would answer this question using the SE / FFXI forums?! --Ibhalliwell (talk) 18:15, 13 May 2017 (EDT)

I never count on SE for answering anything. --Spicyryan (talk) 17:16, 14 May 2017 (EDT)

You can trade your +1 ring to Ploh Trishbahk if you want to get a different ring, it works exactly like the NQ rings (and it still costs 300k Bayld). I didn't go through the whole process, but she will most likely give you an NQ ring in return and you'll have to pay the 100 HP Bayld fee again to get your new ring upgraded to +1. --Soily (talk) 09:38, 29 May 2017 (EDT)

The Ygnas Directive 6 BCNM

I just solo'd the final BCNM against all 6 Incursion bosses, as THF99/DNC (Master, fairly well geared, with Mandau 119-III). Unexpectedly easy fight. I summoned a full team of Trust NPC's (Amchuchu, Sylvie, Ulmia, Cherukiki and King of Hearts) but they all died very fast at the beginning of the fight. However, Nashu and Ygnas both have a ton of HP, they can tank for a long time so you don't have to worry about leaving mobs on them. Ygnas will also cure you throughout the fight (Cure III~VI as needed). I killed the mega boss (Brash Gramk-Droog) first, then killed the others one by one, with the WHM last. You don't need to kill the Puk to win the fight. I checked the NPC's hp while I was killing the last mob and they still had over 70% HP left... --Soily (talk) 09:25, 29 May 2017 (EDT)

Boom Bust strat added

Added a tactic that worked for me reliably. Forcing the little bastard to bust after he's used his trick leaves him fucked no matter what you have. It usually ends well. --Tarage (talk) 23:40, 16 January 2018 (EST)
