Discussion

  • Have watched a White!!.png occur at the last stage, but don't know what effect it has. It neither stops the bio aura nor astral flow. --Spicyryan (talk) 22:57, 8 July 2017 (EDT)
  • Was able to stagger it after party left and without buffs on a random Savage Blade.
    • Believe it might be similar to Zerde where you gain a temporary reprieve from Bilgestorm as I did not see it being used for 3 minutes during our winning attempt when proc'ed at start. --Prismfang (talk) 23:57, 7 February 2020 (EST)

Strategy

  • This fight is pretty straight forward, and easy to do with RNGs or SMNs. Personally I just use DDs which takes more care on the fourth stage because the linkshell doesn't like playing RNG or SMN. The only bad part are the dread spikes leading to instant death if players arent careful.

Any sort of setup works, we just happened to take: Tank/GEO/COR/WHM/SMN /// DD/DD/DD/WHM/GEO/BRD

  • COR BRD SMN rotate. COR ends up in the off party often, they should be able to shoot.

DD GEO: fend, fury, ent torpor (fourth stage, accuracy is easy to cap otherwise). Tank GEO: frailty, fade, ent fend

Tank pops and pulls away to the hill near the spawn spot and stands there. DD will pull off one at at time, long arm chariot first, rest don't matter.

First phase is straight forward, scherzo/armor may be useful for discoid on the tank. It is certainly more useful for Mijin Gakure on the second stage, after that it won't do anything for the third or fourth stages.

Kill the hydra first, and really the whole fight is a joke until stage four.

For the fourth stage there are two big issues, astral flow and dread spikes. The tank should be fine momentarily holding the adds while buffs are redone by the SMN and COR before the BRD JA hordes the adds and rebuffs.

  • Call out spikes to disengage, SMN can remove it.
  • The key is honestly mitigating astral flow. If the tank doesn't have hate, disbanding to avoid it will be a nightmare, One For All is a viable method to live. Bringing a THF may be an investment, we just had RUNs DDing for One For All and hate was an instant issue for a PLD.
  • Have the SMN use Perfect Defense based off of the groups kill speed, stop DDing after either the first or second Astral Flow and use Bolsters. Will great DDs he will be dead very fast, don't disband to avoid AF at this point.

I am sure there are refinements to this, we just did two wins after slapping the idea together,

  • Decided to attempt low-manning this after coming across this reddit thread and Shiraj's Tumult notes.
  • Setup was RUN/DRK x2, BRD/NIN, COR/NIN, GEO/WHM, and WHM/RDM
    • Tank used Epeolatry and Magic Evasion set; other DD's used Ambuscade+2/Adhemar Hybrid DD sets
  • Key threats to deal with in wave 4:
  1. Bilgestorm - Deals 250 HP/tic for several minutes
  2. Dread Spikes - NM resists Finale (and Lullaby) without Troubadour up; possible RDM can remove based on Spicy's testimonial above using Lunar Roar
  3. Astral Flow - Summons all 6 basic avatars + Fenrir/Carbuncle/Diabolos, each avatar targets a random player
  4. Necropurge/Necrobane - AoE Curse and/or Paralysis
  • Recommend holding Khimaira at full HP until Nitro is off cooldown
  • Had all non-WHM members bring and macro Remedies + Holy Water, tank had Panacea
  • We were aiming for around 1200 accuracy in TP/WS sets pre-buffs:
    • WHM: Protectra/Shellra/Barblizzara/Barparalyzra/Boost-STR
    • GEO: Indi-Fend/Geo-Frailty/Entrust-Fade
    • BRD: H.March/A.March/B.Madrigal/Minuet 5/Dark Carol/Sushi
    • SAM: Samurai Roll/Chaos Roll/Red Curry
    • RUN: Lux/Temper/Phalanx/Last Resort/Sushi(Tank), Red Curry(DD)
  • JA's applied approximately as follows:
    • 100%: Asylum > Sacrosanctity (used early to let WHM focus on curing)
    • 75%: One For All > Odyllic/Sforzo (RUN #1)
    • 50%: One For All > Odyllic/Sforzo (RUN #2) > Wild Card
    • 25%: One For All (RUN #1) > Odyllic/Sforzo (if up)
    • 4% One For All (RUN #2) > Odyllic/Sforzo (if up)
  • Last NM died rather quickly and reality was Odyllic's were closer to 66% and 33%; final form took around 3 minutes for winning attempt
  • Attempted without R15/Su weapons/Reforged +3/Newer HTB(Odin/Cait/Alex/Lilith) gear and only one JSE torque (NQ Cleric) but with full REMA aresenal + HQ Abjurations/Whistle
    • Malignance sets or 2nd GEO would be rather beneficial as COR and BRD were taking heavy magic damage in wave 3/4
    • Bilgestorm was a wipe for us if used early; recommend SCH for AoE Embrava/Regen5
    • Feel ranged setup would be safer to dodge intimidation/dread spikes and that a SMN-only conduit burn is risky as pets will likely die before conduit ends when avatars explode near tank
  • All NMs throughout this fight take reduced damage, approximately -50% damage taken
    • Tumult's final form has around 450k HP as 6-man
  • Shoutout to NameStillUnavailable and BlackPearlz linkshells if they attempt this (◕ᴥ◕)/
