Category talk:Item Vendor
There are at least 4 vendor Categories in the wiki: Shopkeeper, Vendor, Item Vendor, and a couple of NPCs have a Special Item Vendor category that's still a red link - is there any particular reason for the distinction? This one seems to have the fewest members, so if they're to ever be unified, this could be the first one to have its members moved to one of the other categories. They should all be shopkeepers IMO because that is the one with all of the sub categories. If it didn't have those I would say Vendor because they are all "xx vendor" pages. I will check with Funk and see what he says. The red link should obviously be removed and so should the Item Vendor IMO.
I imagine this issue goes back to the conception of the wiki. --Spicyryan (talk) 13:32, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
Technically not all of them are in actual shot, so I figure the term Vendor may be general enough to cover all of them - I guess any subcategories Shopkeepers has could be moved under it? Loona (talk) 13:48, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, the tags would just have to be changed, but we will see what Funk says later.
I mean I understand the concept of special item vendors since the Goblins in Reisen and things are unique, but I can't justify the tag confusion about it really. --Spicyryan (talk) 13:56, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
I agree it should be only one tag. What distinction does SE use in-game or on their website? I would be inclined to go with that. Funkworkz (talk) 14:47, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
I believe they call them Merchant NPCs, but I think the call is uniquely ours as we have no "Merchant NPCs" category.--Spicyryan (talk) 15:07, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
