Talk:Brave Dawn I (S)
This is terribly tedious, so if you're grinding it to unlock it for Mastery Rank completion, here's some of my observations while doing this over two dozen times. It's hard to actually fail it, but you can waste your time and slow it down.
I did almost all of these on RDM/BLM, so I could cure the soldier and debuff the enemy. Bring something that can cure.
The soldier will reliably heal himself upon falling under 70% hp. This wastes your time, so keep him above 70%.
The page says the enemy 'seems to shift hate often'. I don't know what this is supposed to mean. If I went in and just Cure3'd the soldier, I never had hate until I started meleeing the crab to finish it off. I also got it when enfeebling the crab, as expected.
Don't enfeeble the crab. This actually made my runs take LONGER, because the progress seems to be tied to the soldier actually getting to 1k TP and using a TP move on the crab. When I slowed/para'd/blinded the crab, the soldier never made it beyond 'seems unfocused' until enfeebs wore off. I also tried Distract 3, but the soldier hits reliably anyway.
'Fighting with Vigor' almost always coincided with the soldier using a TP move.
tl;dr, just stand there and throw Cure3s on the soldier and then go melee the enemy and finish it off when it says he's 'fighting with vigor'. All of these notes also apply to Brave Dawn II (S), I assume they'll be accurate for others.
