I was unable to obtain this item while the "Aurasteal" Merit was active. i kept stealing blaze spikes instead.
Some tips passed on to me:
Make sure monster is below 20%
Make sure it has used a horn weapon skill and the horn is visible on its left hip before trying to steal
Romaa Mihgo can also steal
Magic accuracy seems to help
Steal + is the best thing to get to help
it is unclear if Despoil can also steal the item i have not seen it succeed yet for me or Nanaa Mihgo
if you have corsair friends they can random deal to reset steal and make this process much less tedious.
Barfire will help reduce Amnesia duration.
