Solo:

Difficult solo as RDM/NIN. The difficult part is to be able to kill it before it does ??? needles. Used August,Ulmia,Joachim,Yoran, Arciela with pre-rolls from Qultada as trusts. Used all offensive temp items before the fight (+attributes, regain, att+). Dia III on pop and then zerg. Used Naegling/Thibron and Kaja bow combo to make Empyreal arrow->Savage Blade light SC. Initially tried just like that and lacked DPS to kill it in time (SB was doing around 30k damage). Tried again using Chainspell before pop and then Magic bursting tier V (used Fire in my case, was doing around 15k per MB) on each SC was enough to take him down just after he used 4K needles. So I guess the better your ws gear is, the easier it becomes and maybe MBing is not mandatory anymore. Shaedhen (talk) 07:41, 28 October 2020 (EDT)

Tip for blu solo with trust. Learn Pyric Bulwark from hydra, and diffusion it when it about to use ??? needles. Need a bit of luck here. August tank, need to have the wing up for the 50% DT, so it can survive the needle as well. - Matzu

Duo: Master Lv10 WAR/SAM, Master Lv10 BRD/WHM

Note: This strategy was successful during an Alter-Ego campaign where Trust HP/MP was significantly higher. May not work as well without it. However, there's some useful general tips below.

The key to defeating this NM is to counteract its Level Up mechanic through Skillchain Damage and possibly magic bursting it to White Proc. Early on in the fight he is relatively easy to do damage to. However, multiple uses of Chuupa Blossom will cause his level to rise to a point that hitting him becomes more difficult without sufficient accuracy. To help with this I recommend acquiring a Fighter's Drink and a Monarch's Drink from Shiftrix. Also, preserve your Aggressor JA for later in the fight in case accuracy becomes an issue.

Trusts: Valaineral, Matsui-P, Koru-Moru, Yoran-Oran

Sentinel's Scherzo is valuable in this fight, but may not be 100% necessary. Due to the status effect absorption the BRD will need to keep refreshing songs on the party. Bring along echo drops as well for silence. Yoran-Oran won't be able to keep up with removing status ailments by himself, so other temporary items may be of value in emergencies. Otherwise -na spells and erase from the BRD should be sufficient to assist. Valaineral will do most of the healing himself, but Curaga II and moreover Curaga III can be valuable in keeping the party topped off.

??? Needles can be tanked in most cases if all characters/trusts are in range. The damage doesn't seem to exceed 10k needles too frequently making it survivable even by trusts with enough HP.
