Slow Testing

More Crit Rate Testing

  • Got a non-crit with Atma of the Razed Ruins, Rancor Collar, and 5/5 merits (60% Crit Rate expected), but it was 1/25 WSs. I would guess that the 100 TP Crit rate is 35%, as the other test just showed it was more than 30%. --Byrthnoth 11:17, 26 November 2011 (EST)
  • I'm pretty sure I just had a non-crit with Atma of the Omnipotent, Atma of the Scorpion Queen, 5/5 merits (35% Crit rate expected), and 300 TP, but again it was about 1/20. I was trying to way undershoot the real crit rate to make it easier to see, but it didn't work. The maximum crit rate boost (300% TP) may be as high as 60%. This non-crit was followed by a monster attack, but I ended up with 23 TP. It did pretty normal damage, but the monster was at high-ish HP. --Byrthnoth 12:02, 26 November 2011 (EST)
  • Okay, now I'm pretty sure my last non-crit was a false positive. Just because it should be easy to see if my last Crit Rate was uncapped, I went back and put on Atma of the Plaguebringer, Atma of the Omnipotent, 5/5 merits, etc. on WAR/SAM. My Ukko's (22 TP return) rate was 1350-1750, which is consistent with all of them being Critical Hits.
    • (D126 Maschu +2 + ~18 fSTR + 82 STR mod) with 21% Critical Hit Damage (Trait and AF3+2 feet) work the math through, etc. It works out that my Ukko's were all crits.
    • If you don't feel like doing that, a shortcut is to just compare the ratio of your max/min melee crit to your max/min Ukko's Fury. Assuming your ranges don't overlap (they never do) then getting a non-crit would expand your range and change the ratios. Because your sample size for Ukko's is smaller than crits, you'd expect your melee crit range to be larger than your Ukko's range if all your Ukko's were crits. This was the case for me.

Anyway, point is that I've spent two hours doing 300TP Ukko's Fury-ing random crap in Abyssea - Misareaux without any Crit Atma or gear on and I have yet to see a non-crit. I think it's at least +75% Crit rate at 300TP.

  • I have used 72 300TP Ukko's Furies in this time. If the crit rate was actually 95% or less, the odds of me successfully doing Ukko's 72 times in a row without non-critting is approximately 5%. So I can be 95% confident that the Crit Rate boost from a 300TP Ukko's Fury is over 70%. If anyone has a better way to do these stats please PM me! --Byrthnoth 15:32, 26 November 2011 (EST)
  • Repeated the test without Crit merits and got another 30-40ish crit Ukko's. The crit rate is doing a pretty good impression of 80% or higher. --Byrthnoth 01:02, 28 November 2011 (EST)
