Su5 Limbus Armor and non-"best" sets

I'm gonna be honest - I think these sets have lost touch with reality entirely at this point. I would like there to be something I can link another human being that has something they can aspire to that isn't just 22 different jobs' pages with "4/5 R30 Limbus armors or maybe 5/5".

I get that this is supposed to be "the best set"! I just don't think that much Limbus is realistic for most human beings, and I think converting all the gear sets into that from their previous ones made these pages actively worse than they previously were. I think most people disagree with me, because nobody's complained yet... but I'm stating my opinion anyway, because this is a discussion page.

Heck, I think it'd be better to have some sets that aren't the best. Give people some ideas of intermediate gearing, maybe crib from the job guides that already exist. I wouldn't mind populating that myself if that's what it takes! But I don't want to step on any toes touching this lovingly maintained pile of Limbus blue borders I'll never have at R30. -Staplerguy (talk) 16:35, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

The question becomes: who are these sets for? If they are for the top elite, who already have or are actively making multiple R30 pieces, a player of that caliber should barely need guidance on how to build a set. If they are for the middle of the road player to provide aspirations, they can be discouraging in how difficult or how much time it may take to complete, and offer no alternatives in the interim. If they are for new players, they are completely out of touch on what is realistic. You're too considerate in asking for permission, just make the edits, they will only be for the better and if someone takes issue they can create their own personal curated gear guides. Reasonable take! I like it. That said, i've been convinced by a few others that the correct thing to do is just leave this as is and go update all the individual Community Job Guides instead... so I'm gonna do that :P -Staplerguy (talk) 15:33, 12 June 2026 (UTC)

I think there is considerable value in adding in a non-R30 Limbus set for each item as well (can still include unranked gear), so if you are inclined, I think it would be collectively appreciated. --Kyte (talk) 14:11, 30 June 2026 (UTC)

Wanted to add my voice in agreement that all the R30 limbus gear all over the place is sort of unhelpful/pointless - after all, if the methodology for these sets originally was to not consider R30 Nyame surely there has to be some built in understanding of what is meaningfully attainable. On top of that there's a fair bit of ambiguity in some places such as the DRG gearsets where I'm guessing that the sets intend the shown limbus gear to be R30 but nothing on the page actually says that, which may easily lead some players to misunderstand what they're looking at. --Sodako (talk) 03:34, 19 August 2026 (UTC)
