December 2010 Version Update Notes

The Version Update Is Here! (12/07/2010) We are proud to announce the arrival of the December version update, featuring "Heroes of Abyssea," the third installment in the Abyssea series of battle area add-ons. Not to be outdone, the Wings of the Goddess expansion also takes center stage with the concluding missions to its emotion-charged storyline. Other notable additions include the raising of the level cap to 90, a plethora of new job abilities and spells to accompany this increase, additional storage features, charming job emotions, and the list goes on. Additions and Adjustments Galore! (12/06/2010) Along with the wealth of other new features previewed in this space, the soon-to-be-released version update will usher in a host of additions and adjustments to existing content such as Trial of the Magians, Walk of Echoes, and Abyssea areas. Even old favorites like Dynamis and Einherjar will see drop rate adjustments and other refinements designed to make them more rewarding than ever! Read on for the details.

The Mercury Keeps Rising: Level Cap to Be Increased! (12/01/2010) The mercury is set to climb to flesh-searing heights with the further lifting of the level cap in the impending version update. Synergistic Splendors Await! (11/29/2010) Synergists of Vana'diel, start firing up your furnaces! The upcoming version update will see the upper limit of Synergy skill raised to level 80 (Artisan), and with a host of recipes—featuring lavish new furnishings and much, much more—there's sure to be something for everyone to enjoy! Heroes of Abyssea Now Available for Advance Purchase! (11/24/2010) Heroes of Abyssea—the third in the popular series of battle area add-ons—is now available for purchase via the PlayOnline viewer! Follow the Heroes of Abyssea banner from the FINAL FANTASY XI top page and acquire your registration code today. Adventurers can take a sneak peek at the great challenges and even greater rewards that await them beyond the maw at the official Heroes of Abyssea site, newly updated with a promotional trailer. Also featuring monster profiles and wallpaper based on the official Abyssea concept art by acclaimed artist Jun Suemi, this update is something no player will want to miss! Access the Heroes of Abyssea homepage. *Purchasing users will be able to access the Heroes of Abyssea content with the next FINAL FANTASY XI version update, scheduled for Monday, December 6. *As with previous add-ons, the purchase of a single registration code will unlock the Heroes of Abyssea content for all characters belonging to that PlayOnline account.

Job Emotes on Display! (11/22/2010) With the long-awaited job emotes set to make their appearance in the upcoming version update, communication between you and your comrades promises to be more entertaining and expressive than ever before. Today, we're giving players a sneak peek at what lies in store with a new promotional video! Feast your eyes on the complete set of twenty unique and charming gestures painstakingly animated to capture the essence of each of Vana'diel's adventuring professions. Check out the job emote preview video! *Final release version may differ from the development content shown in this video. *Each job emotion must be acquired by completing a quest (minimum job level 30) before it can be used. *Acquired job emotions can be performed at any time regardless of your character's current job or level.

New Version Update Draws Near! (11/09/2010) The new FINAL FANTASY XI version update is currently on track for an early December release! The development team is putting the finishing touches on a wide range of content headlined by the long-awaited conclusion of the Wings of the Goddess missions, the next stage of the level cap increase accompanied by a variety of new spells and job abilities, and the new set of job emotes announced at VanaFest 2010.
