Melee Solo
Solo'd as
BLU/WAR MLVL 30 with R15 Tiz and trusts (Ygnas, Kupipi, Ulmia, Koru-Moru, Kuyin)
The key to soloing this fight is having a good acc set, ideally you want +1600 acc, and depending on what your MLVL is you may need more or less, as MLVL relative to the bosses level affects hit rate. I had 1650 acc going in.
On my first go around, I noted that my WS were not doing high damage and missing consistently; it is important that your WS set also is around the 1600acc mark. I ended up timing out due to low damage throughput as a result.
For round two, I tweeked my WS set to add in some much needed acc without sacrificing too much dmg. I treated this fight as one would A boss, with the exception that I moved out of puddles when they landed, and moved boss out of them as well because he heals when in puddle. To avoid WS wall, I did four step Expiacion > RLB > Flat Blade > Savage Blade into light, if I was not confident I could make the window, I would just hold tp or cast a buff/spell until the window was up. Be careful if you do this chain as if you miss the chain window on Savage Blade, you can Expiacion into Distortion and one shot yourself. After a certain amount of puddles, the boss will stop placing them, allowing you to fight stationary.
Having two healers present really helped, Kupipi/Ygnas love to spam poisona, however Kupipi died when boss was at 75% so two WHM trusts is not essential if you have decent self healing. Can potentially sub Sel'theus or Sylvie as long as you don't have her following you. Be sure to keep boss away from trusts, and avoid using trusts that keep in melee range or path toward you frequently. I was buffed with Jumbotender cheer which helped trusts with MP management and longevity.
Keep a few remedies on hand incase trusts take a long time to heal poison; it is imperative it gets healed ASAP as it buffs the damage boss does to you and it stacks (stack counter is hidden).
Keep Tenebral Crush up, Erratic flutter, and Mighty Guard (I used Wisdom during the fight to extend MG uptime). I liked having MG up because it allowed me to 4-step much more easily incase Ulmia decided to use MP songs. The boss has high defense, so without Bard/Cor buffs don't expect to hit like you would on A boss. A good healing set helps for strong magic fruits, keeping pressure off of your trusts and allowing them to focus more on poison when it goes out; try not to dip below 1k hp.
Overall fight took 30min, and ended the whole solo run with 15kish points. Not the best solo run if you're looking for earring coffers, but certainly best on points.
Poisona
Removing poison is the key to beating Dhartok.
You can take any setup as long as whoever is tanking/in AoE range has poison removed immediately.
Without it, you will definitely die even with a high HP pool.
RUN,
COR,
BLM,
SCH,
GEO,
WHM
- WHM: Barwatera and Barpoisonra
- GEO: Indi-INT, Geo-Acumen, Entrust Focus
- COR: Wizard's and Samurai rolls
Very easy win with
earth magic bursts. COR uses Hot Shot to open for Immanence stone for Scission. The COR will need to hit ~1,625 ranged accuracy. If that is too difficult (it shouldn't be) then the SCH can just create scissions, but that is much slower unless burning Tabula Rasa.
RUN can avoid being KOed by Clobbering Wave by kiting after Gambit and Rayke as everything has a small range, but don't kite it into the party. Clobbering Wave doesn't seem to really be used until after either 50% or when the clouds start coming out. Nothing else is a threat to the RUN.
PLD,
BLU,
WAR,
BRD(REA, 2boxed),
GEO(M, 2boxed),
WHM(M, 2boxed)
Melee Strat
- BRD: Buffs with 2x Madrigal, 2x Minuet and Honor March (SV+CC, though probably doable without SV and maybe without CC). Pianissimo PLD with Ballad, Sirvente and Scherzo. Pianissimo GEO and BRD with Ballad
- GEO: Buffs with Fury, Debuffs with fraility (this fight has a lot movement for safety and cloud avoidance, so not that helpful)
- BLU: Diffusion Erratic Flutter, Debuffs with Tenebral Crush.
- WAR\DRG and BLU\DRG: 4 step with Expiacion -> Upheavel -> Savage Blade -> Ukko's Fury. Both Super jump after the first 4 step and then High jump after a few more 4 steps.
- PLD: slowly kites along the outer edge of the arena to pull Dhartok out of clouds.
- WHM: does WHM things and BRD\WHM + GEO\WHM help out.
Fairly straight forward fight, PLD needs to watch out for Clobbering Wave and stay out the clouds.

Red Mage Solo
RDM melee solo using enstone and rotating weapon skills chant du chygne > red lotus blade > shining blade > sanguine blade > seraph blade > burning blade to avoid weapon skill walls. Enfeebling was Dia III and distract III only. Cured as needed. Used A LOT of antidotes. 28 minute fight. No crazy gear. WS gear was RDM empy+3. No o-sash for enspells or ws dmg.
Edit: changed merits around and got taeon augmented dual wield boots. Fight takes about 15-18 min depending on how much he runs in the opposite direction when repositioning him. trusted used are the immune to damage ones star sibyl, kuyin, sakura, brygid no buffs other then RDMs.
