Strategies

It's 2024. VD solo on THF/DRG: Cornelia+Arciela to cap Haste, Monberaux for main healing, Sylvie+Qultada for maximum attack. Be sure to attack the Doll Factory after each doll dies so the trusts keep each other healed up. Monberaux+Sylvie is suboptimal here because the only relevant damage is Thundaga III. Apururu could Curaga through that but without her there's no (realistic, Prishe II can but she never will) AoE healing trust. -Staplerguy (talk) 14:00, 25 June 2024 (UTC)

I edited the page for the Microcosmic Orb campaign with a simplified list of what it drops, but the in the immediately previous edit I made a fairly exhaustive list of what actually drops. I didn't flesh out the Fireworks category and Angelwing has the wrong icon, but otherwise that version is complete. Yggdreant Bole/Rockfin Tooth are listed with verification tags because I got them when spamming Worm's Turn II on Very Easy and haven't seen them or a comparable drop in this BCNM. They might drop with a super low drop rate (like how Boxes drop), but I haven't verified it. --Byrthnoth (talk) 22:56, 17 March 2017 (EDT)

I imagine all of the event specific pools for the 4 Microcosmic Orbs are the same, but did you never see Vagary upgrade mats? I saw some and had reports of some both from Tails of Woe II VD spam --Spicyryan (talk) 00:18, 18 March 2017 (EDT)

I've killed over a hundred orbs of VD Factory Rejects and a hundred orbs of VE Worm's Turn at this point and haven't seen Vagary upgrade mats. I suspect that Factory Rejects II has the AF 119 Slot upgrades, Worm's Tail II has the Relic 119 Slot upgrades, and Tails of Woe II has the Empyrean 119 slot upgrades. I don't know what Steamed Sprouts II has. Other than those items, I also never got a Job Card from VE Worm's Tail II. --Byrthnoth (talk) 06:44, 18 March 2017 (EDT)

I have seen vagary mats and several etched memories in VD Tails of Woe II. There goes my hopes that they are all the same event drops, but that makes sense I suppose.

I set myself up to spam Steamed Sprouts VD on PLD and have been doing it for the last two hours. I've gotten two job cards (including SCH, which confirms the same job card can drop from multiple BCs), but nothing unique. --Byrthnoth (talk) 17:25, 18 March 2017 (EDT)

Well, over the last 30 orbs, I have gotten no unique drops from Steamed Sprouts. I do seem to be getting a much higher rate of REM tales, perhaps. --Byrthnoth (talk)

I was getting ~3-4 REMs a run on VD Tails of WoE if that is any comparison. Although that is like 9-10 runs, not nearly your sample size. --Spicyryan (talk) 22:21, 18 March 2017 (EDT)

I don't think I'll be bothering with more Steamed Sprouts. It takes me 5 minutes longer per BC than Worm's Tail. I might give the rabbit one a shot, as it looks like the highest gil/seal for this campaign.
