Vigil Weapons are weapons found on Notorious Monsters and enemy leaders while during Nyzul Isle Investigation assault missions. These weapons allow a player to complete the quest Unlocking a Myth from Zalsuhm in Lower Jeuno to unlock job specific weaponskills.
Vigil Weapons can be stored with the NPC Ghanraam in Aht Urhgan Whitegate at (K-10) by trading him the weapon and an Imperial Bronze Piece. Any weapons points associated with that weapon will be lost if traded to Ghanraam.
Vigil Weapons are also used to start the quest for the Mythic Weapons.
