Mythic Weapons are upgraded versions of Vigil Weapons found during the Nyzul Isle Investigation. The historical background for these weapons can be found at The Myriad Arms of Balrahn. Ergon weapons are "mythic equivalent" weapons for Rune Fencer and Geomancer implemented in the May 2014 Version Update[1]. There never will be plans to implement Ergon weapons for any other job, as these are stand-ins for Rune Fencer and Geomancer's Mythic Weapons. Mythic Weapon Skills may be unlocked for use with any weapon by completing the corresponding version of the Unlocking a Myth quest for most jobs; for Rune Fencer and Geomancer, the quest to unlock the weapon skills are Rune Fencing the Night Away and Geomancerrific, respectively. §  Unlike Mythic Weapons at 99 or 119, completed Ergon Weapons lack the 30% damage boost factor when their Ergon Weapon Skill is used in tandem with the weapon^[2].
§ As of the October 2018 Patch, Ergon weapons now possess an Afterglow aura.^[3]

Mythic Acquisition

There are a series of quests one must complete in the pursuit of a Mythic Weapon.
Be forewarned that these are laborious tasks which will take a while to complete.

• The Captain Mercenary Rank must be obtained first in order to start the Mythic Questline:
  

• An Imperial Heist
• Duties, Tasks, and Deeds
• Forging a New Myth
• Coming Full Circle

• After this, Mythic Weapons can be further upgraded through their level 99 variants via the Trial of the Magians.

• For initial Item Level 119 versions, a level 99 variant and 300 Beitetsus must be traded to Oboro in Port Jeuno at (E-6).
• For the completed Item Level 119 versions, an Item Level 119 variant and 10,000 Beitetsus must be traded to Oboro in Port Jeuno at (E-6).
  • 119 variants possessing an Afterglow only require 1 Beitetsu.

Ergon Acquisition

The process of creating an Ergon Weapon involves the completion of one of two quests and multiple trades of various items to Runje Desaali or her Leafkin in multiple steps:^[4]

• Legend rank in all coalitions must be obtained first in order to start the Ergon Quests.
  

Step 1: Completion of a job specific quest: Saved by the Bell or Quiescence.

• This involves the completion of a unique, subjob locked BCNM and trading 100 Pinches of High-Purity Bayld

Step 2: Trade 200 Ghastly Stones, 1 random crafting material drop from each Delve I Megaboss, and 500 Pinches of High-Purity Bayld
Step 3: Trade 200 Verdigris Stones, 1 random crafting material drop from each Delve II Megaboss, and 2,500 Pinches of High-Purity Bayld
Step 4: Trade 200 Wailing Stones, a Pristine Yggrete Crystal (2,500,000 Mweya Plasm), and 9,999 Pinches of High-Purity Bayld

• This gives the initial Item Level 119 version of the weapon.
• For the completed Item Level 119 versions, the initial Item Level 119 variant and 10,000 Beitetsus must be traded to Oboro in Port Jeuno at (E-6).

Retrieving Lost Ergon

If you have dropped any stage Lexeme Blade or Nodal Wand, you can re-aquire it at the stage that you are at by doing the following:

• Talk to Geosuke. You might need to talk to him multiple times. Eventually, Runje Desaali will ask you if you accidentally dropped the weapon.
• Answer Yes
• Trade 1,000,000 Gil to Runje Desaali and she will craft you a new Lexeme Blade or Nodal Wand at the stage you were at. (Done with Lexeme Blade II, don't know if all versions cost the same amount of gil).

Further Upgrades

• For initial Item Level 119 versions, a level 99 variant and 300 Beitetsu must be traded to Oboro in Port Jeuno at (E-6).
  • Aegis and Gjallarhorn lack 119 variants, being fully upgraded in their level 99 II forms.
  • Epeolatry and Idris begin as their "119 I" versions, and skip this step.
• For the completed Item Level 119 versions, an Item Level 119 variant and 10,000 Beitetsu must be traded to Oboro in Port Jeuno at (E-6).
  • 119 variants possessing an Afterglow only require 1.
• For the Item Level "119 III" variants, they can be further augmented with Oboro in Port Jeuno at (E-6).
  • Certain prerequisites are needed in order to begin this process.
