Notes
Basic Info
- Each corsair can bestow up to two Phantom Roll effects.
- Corsair as a sub job can only bestow one Phantom Roll effect.
- There are 12 shared 'slots' allotted to songs and rolls.
- All 31 rolls are tied together on the Phantom Roll timer.
Double-Up, Roll Potency and Busting
- After using Phantom Roll, you are able to use Double-Up for 45 seconds to increase your roll value.
- For each roll, XI (11) yields the best result, followed by a "lucky number" specific to each roll. The worst result is an "unlucky number," also specific to each roll.
- Exceeding 11 results in Bust.
- Two bust effects (one bust effect with Corsair sub job) will prevent the Corsair from applying new rolls until a bust effect is removed (by Fold, zoning, or death) or wears off.
- Additional potency from "Phantom Roll"+ gear can be applied via both Phantom Roll and Double-Up as long as the equipment remains equipped.
- The potency of each +1 tier is noted in the Roll tables below. If you have a Regal Necklace for instance, take the potency of +1 for the phantom roll and multiply it by 7 to figure out the bonus potency provided. Add this number to the number rolled in the tables below to find the total effect.
- Job-related bonuses to rolls only apply on the initial Phantom Roll and cannot be applied retroactively with Double-Up.
- The relevant job does not have to be in range of the initial Phantom Roll for the party to receive the forced bonus.
Duration and Recast
- Phantom Roll duration can be increased from 00:05:00 to 00:06:40 in 20 second increments with five upgrades to the Corsair job-specific merit category Winning Streak.
- Additionally +6 more seconds per merit to Winning Streak if Commodore Tricorne +2 or any of the reforged versions are worn, bringing the duration up to 00:07:10.
- Phantom Roll duration can further be increased up to 40 seconds longer by spending Capacity Points in the Job Points Phantom Roll Duration category in +2 second increments.
- Max Duration as of November 2nd, 2022 is 11 minutes flat with all gear, augments, job points and merits.
- Without Divergence Weapon it's 10 minutes.
- Max Duration as of November 2nd, 2022 is 11 minutes flat with all gear, augments, job points and merits.
- Phantom Roll recast can be lowered from 00:01:00 to 00:00:50 in 2 second increments with five upgrades to the Corsair job-specific merit category Phantom Roll Recast.
XI Roll Perks
In addition to yielding the best buff values, rolling an 11 also confers significant additional benefits to the rolling Corsair.
- At the moment the 11 is rolled, the Phantom Roll recast timer is instantly reset to 0.
- If a player has an active Bust effect then they do not receive the reset or a recast timer reduction.
- If no Bust effect is active when the 11 is initially achieved:
- Phantom Roll's recast timer is reduced to 30 seconds for any follow-up rolls as long as any 11 roll remains active on the Corsair.
- Phantom Roll recast Merits and other reductions to the recast timer still apply their full effect, making them very powerful.
- The Corsair gains complete immunity to Bust effects as long as any 11 roll remains active on the Corsair.
- The combination of these effects allows the Corsair to rapidly re-roll in order to achieve better results, strategically bust rolls without penalty, and easily apply different rolls to different party members.
- Phantom Roll's recast timer is reduced to 30 seconds for any follow-up rolls as long as any 11 roll remains active on the Corsair.
Potency Penalty
- Phantom Roll receives a potency penalty when the level of the Corsair (or Corsair sub job level) using it is lower than the level of those receiving the roll. The corrected potency is:
- New roll potency = ( COR Level ÷ Target Level ) × Normal roll potency
- Example: A level 90 receiving Chaos Roll from a level 30 Corsair (or through a level 30 Corsair sub job) would only receive 33% of the normal boost.
