Category:A.M.A.N. Trove

From FFXI Wiki
(Redirected from A.M.A.N. Trove (Mars))

The Adventurer's Mutual Aid Network (A.M.A.N.) have prepared some treasure trove for our adventurers. A.M.A.N. Trove is new content in which players aim to open a variety of treasure chests and retrieve the spoils that lie within. You may find new accessories that can only be obtained from this content, as well as equipment and materials from Geas Fete, Omen, Vagary, Delve, and more.

There are ten boxes available, but one is really a Mimic. If the Mimic spawns, you'll need to defeat it to be able to obtain your rewards and leave the field.

Players can enter this battlefield using an orb obtained by providing Greyson with Silver A.M.A.N. Vouchers, which are available by completing new Record of Eminence objectives.

Eligibility Requirements

Warning: Time Gated Content

45 Days must have passed since character creation before you are able to participate in this content.

  • You must be job level 99 to speak to Greyson to unlock his services and the corresponding Records of Eminence objectives.
    • While the level 99 / 45 IRL day requirements prevent you from speaking to Greyson, you can still enter the battlefield if you obtain an orb elsewhere.
  • Trade a Mars Orb or Venus Orb to the Burning Circles in any of Horlais Peak, Waughroon Shrine, or Balga's Dais to enter the battlefield.
    • Between 1 and 6 players may participate.
    • The time limit is 30 minutes.

Getting Started

  • Venus Orbs have a greater chance at higher-tier rewards. See full details below.
  • Trade one of these orbs to the Burning Circles located in Horlais Peak, Waughroon Shrine, or Balga's Dais to enter the battlefield.
    • There is no difference between the three zones and possible rewards. Rewards only depend on the orb used and messages received.

Note: As of the April 2022 update, players can now receive a random item by trading used Mars Orbs and Venus Orbs back to Greyson in Lower Jeuno (G-11).

Basics

Each battlefield contains ten wooden chests in two rows of five and one central gold chest.

  • Each wooden chest contains one item, and all items will be rewarded only when the central gold chest is opened.
  • However, one of the wooden chests contains a Mimic that must be defeated once revealed to receive any rewards.
    • It is also possible that a rainbow chest or a second golden chest may appear in place of one or more of the wooden chests. These chests contain a guaranteed higher tier reward and are never a Mimic.

Wooden Chests

  • Opening a wooden chest adds one item to the rewards in the central gold chest.
    • When this occurs, you will also receive a message indicating the quality of the rewarded item. See the Rewards section below for more details.
    • After opening a wooden chest, you may receive a message about a "belligerent bang", which denotes whether any of the remaining chests contain higher quality items. If you receive this message, you will continue to receive it until a Loud Thud chest is opened, or you spawn a Mimic.
      • There is a similar message for an "impossible to gauge thud", the highest reward category.
      • Not receiving these messages does not imply anything about the wooden chests' contents, and receiving them does not mean there is only one of that sound among the chests.
      • These messages also do not imply anything about the contents of the central gold chest.
  • If you are unlucky, all the treasure chests will vanish and you will have to engage in combat against a fierce Mimic.
    • If you defeat the Mimic, the central gold chest will reappear more and you may open it to receive your previously obtained rewards and clear the battlefield.
      • No other chests that were on the battlefield when the Mimic spawns will reappear after defeating it.

Rainbow Chest

A "rainbow", or Prismatic Chest, is guaranteed to contain an "Impossible to Gauge Thud".

  • It is possible for one of the wooden chests to spawn as a rainbow chest at the start.
  • If all but two wooden chests are opened, one of the remaining chests can turn into either a golden chest containing a guaranteed "Loud Thud" or a rainbow chest containing a guaranteed "Impossible to Gauge Thud".
    • An upgrade (either gold or rainbow) is guaranteed to happen in a Venus Orb battlefield, but not guaranteed to happen in a Mars Orb battlefield.

Rainbow Chest Gold Plated Chest

Central Gold Chest

Opening the central golden chest completes the battlefield. You will receive one item per wooden chest you have opened, plus the one item contained in the central gold chest.

  • The central chest can never be a Mimic.
  • The central chest makes a "noise" and contains corresponding contents just like the ten wooden chests.
    • For Mars Orbs, the central chest can make any noise. For Venus Orbs, the central chest is guaranteed to be a Thud, Loud Thud, or Impossible to Gauge Thud.

If an item with the Rare Rare attribute would drop but you already possess that item, it will not appear in the list of spoils. There is no message in the chat log to notify you of this.

The Battle

If an incorrect chest is selected, a Mimic named Chest O'Plenty (in Mars Orbs) or Coffer O'Plenty (in Venus Orbs) spawns. This also causes all other chests to despawn. This monster must be defeated in order to obtain any items from this battlefield. When it is defeated, the central gold chest respawns. (Any unopened wooden chests do not reappear.)

  • Has approximately 2,500,000 HP.
  • Upon popping and at every phase change (69%, 39%, and 9% HP remaining), it uses the move Ka-thwack, an AoE instant death.
  • The Mimic also has the following TP moves
    • Death Trap: Inflicts AoE Stun (~5s) centered around the Mimic.
    • Gilded Torpor: Inflicts AoE Sleep centered around the target.
    • Double Whammy: Inflicts AoE physical damage centered around the Mimic.
    • Booby Prize: Randomly inflicts a status ailment. Possible ailments include, but may not be limited to: Poison, Blind, Plague, Silence, Petrification, Defense Down, and Magic Attack Down
  • The Mimic also casts spells that can be interrupted. A preferred strategy is to avoid using DoT spells and casting Lullaby to sleep the Mimic while it is casting.
    • Notably, the Mimic can cast Death. Death resist gear does not seem to help against it. Interrupting it is strongly recommended.
    • It can also cast Comet, Absorb, -ga III, and Ancient Magic II spells.
  • Draws-in party members, which can be avoided by being far enough away.
  • Has an incredibly large range on its AoE moves (50 Yalms+).
  • Susceptible to Sleep, such as from Lullaby or Light Shot.
  • Grants the title "Mimic Masher" upon defeat (in either of the Mars Orb or Venus Orb battlefields.)

It is possible to proc this monster.

  • The chance of seeing drop is increased after procing blue abilities on the monster.

Rewards

There are five possible messages that may be obtained when opening a wooden chest. The message when opening a chest indicates the quality of item received from that chest. These messages (and thus the reward types) are totally random, and each instance is not guaranteed to contain all of them.

  • It is possible to open all nine non-Mimic chests and still not receive a Loud Thud, or to obtain multiple Loud Thuds back-to-back in the same battlefield, including from the final chest.
  • You will sometimes receive messages like "You feel like there's a <huge sound/impossible to gauge sound> left to be made."
    • The ending punctuation is an indicator of certainty ("made...?" vs "made." vs "made!")
    • The messages that end in "...?" can be incorrect in either direction, better or worse (e.g. "huge sound left to be made...?" could be a regular Thud but it could also be an Impossible to Gauge Thud.)
    • If the noise is found and it is a worse result, it will say "Looks like your intuition was incorrect.". If it is a better result, it will say "It's even better than you anticipated!":

  • 5,000,000 Gil
    • There is a rare chance to obtain 5,000,000 Gil as a bonus reward upon opening the Terminal Coffer, regardless of the number of chests opened or sound produced by the central chest.
    • This is indicated with the message "You receive 5,000,000 gil as a bonus reward!"
      • You can still get this gil reward when entering alone, even if other party members do not enter the battlefield.
      • There may be a limit per month or similar on this reward, but exact details are unclear.
    • A Monthly Adventurer Campaign may be active which doubles this amount to 10,000,000 Gil. This campaign does not increase the chance of obtaining this reward.

Orb Types

Mars Orbs cost 6 Silver Vouchers each, and Venus Orbs cost 10 Silver Vouchers each.

  • The central golden chest in a Venus Orb battlefield is always at least a "Thud".
  • Venus Orbs are believed to have a higher chance at "Loud Thud" (and possibly also "Impossible to Gauge" Thuds) from each individual wooden chest. Verification Needed
  • Once 8 wooden chests are opened, one of the final 2 chests in a Venus Orb battlefield will always be upgraded to either a gold or a rainbow chest, while a Mars Orb battlefield may have either upgrade occur or none at all.
  • Both orb types contain a Mimic.
    • There is no known difference in Mimic chances between the two types.
  • It was confirmed in the 20th Anniversary Special Freshly Picked Vana'diel (@4:30:52~) that the possible items rewarded from each type of noise, as well as the odds of "special rewards" from Loud Thuds (such as Omen bodies) are the same for both orb types.
