Revision as of 19:34, 5 October 2015
Introduced with Rhapsodies of Vana'diel, Escha is comprised of zones filled with a wide range of monsters, from the relatively the weak to high-level and even notorious monsters.
The first zone was implemented along with the first act of Rhapsodies of Vana'diel in the May 14th, 2015 update[1], Escha - Zi'Tah; with the second zone, Escha - Ru'Aun, being added along with the second act of Rhapsodies of Vana'diel in the August 5th, 2015 update[2]. Defeating regular and notorious monsters yield the ability to obtain various unique buffs specific to Escha zones; furthermore, defeating notorious monsters will yield powerful equipment which, much like Delve, may be further enhanced. Getting StartedEligibility RequirementsEscha - Zi'TahAccess is obtained by progressing through Rhapsodies of Vana'diel Mission 1-10. The entry point is the Undulating Confluence, near Home Point #1, (G-8) on Qufim Island. Escha - Ru'AunAccess is obtained by progressing through Rhapsodies of Vana'diel Mission 2-29. The entry point is the Undulating Confluence, near Home Point #1, (G-5) in Misareaux Coast. |

Battle Content
Within each Eschan zone, there are numerous Notorious Monsters that players may engage in combat with in numerous event styles ranging from singular, random spawning monsters to giant server-wide cooperative fights against extremely powerful enemies.
Domain Invasion
Introduced along with the second chapter of Rhapsodies of Vana'diel, this battle content pits any number of players against a single Notorious Monster in "dynamic raid battles."
The Notorious Monster making the ingression will only appear for a limited time; however, Unity leaders will notify their members via unity chat whenever a monster is about to appear, about the current condition the invading monster is in, as well as when the battlefield is cleared.
Domain Invasion Notorious Monsters are not unique to any Eschan zone, and may appear in any zone.
Participation
- To participate, a player must be in possession of an "elvorseal" received from either Affi in Escha - Zi'Tah (F-10) or Dremi in Escha - Ru'Aun (H-11)
- Only level 99 players may receive this Key Item.
- Should the assembled players defeat the NM, each person participating will receive spoils; with the zone where the monster was defeated earning special temporary enhancements.(See chart below)

- Please note, that unlike other NM-tied vorseal effects, Azi Dahaka and Naga Raja unlock their respective vorseal effect multiple times upon subsequent defeats.
- While the upper limits of the pattern isn't currently fully clear, the number of defeats needed to reward a regen/refresh vorseal unlock are: 1st, 5th, 10th, 25th, 50th, 100th, 250th, 500th

Geas Fete
Geas Fete focuses on battling the notorious monsters that dwell in Escha zones.
Calling forth these notorious monsters requires tribulenses, special key items obtainable in exchange for escha silt, as well as a "grisly trinket" key item specific to each notorious monster; which are both consumed upon the monster's appearance.
Defeating these notorious monsters will grant the victors experience and capacity points, escha silt and Escha Beads, Eschalixirs, as well as powerful equipment specific to each monster.
All the notorious monsters are arranged in progressive tiers (I~III) wherein all of the previous tier must be defeated before the key items for the next tier can be obtained.
Futhermore, there are two tiers of HELM Notorious monsters that require specific HELM items from their respective Escha zone.
How to participate
- Form a party of three to eighteen members.
- Trusts can be used in Geas Fete, but they do not count towards the required number of party members; and must be summoned before the NM is spawned.
- Every party member must possess a tribulens key item and the party leader must have a "grisly trinket" key item corresponding to the appropriate notorious monster.
- The notorious monster are spawned by the party leader inspecting a ??? target located in one of the corners of the Escha zone, while in possession of both a tribulens and the appropriate "grisly trinket" key item at the entrance.
- Escha - Zi'Tah trinkets may be obtained by trading items with Affi and the same for Escha - Ru'Aun with Dremi
Escha - Zi'Tah
Escha - Ru'Aun
As denoted above, certain items may be purchased from various vendor NPCs, Guild NPCs, or Curio Moogles for gil, or with sparks of eminence from an A.M.A.N. NPC, or with Mweya Plasm from the appropriate NPC.
Rewards
See also: Escha Rewards
The primary sets of Eschan armor and weapons can be diversified and upgraded in stages through a set augmentation system by utilizing Eschalixirs, obtained from various monsters throughout Escha zones.
Currencies
- Escha Silt is acquired by earning Experience (or Limit) Points in Escha zones.
- The rate that silt is gained is roughly 1% of the experience points earned.
- Silt is used to purchase key items from NPCs, traverse the various Eschan Portals, and obtain vorseals.
- The current maximum amount of silt you can hold at one time is 1,000,000 (one million), by using the Eschan urn and Eschan cellar to increase the cap from 100,000.
- Escha Beads are acquired by defeating Notorious Monsters in Escha zones.
- Currently the beads are only used to obtain Eschalixirs used for augmenting equipment gained in Escha zones.
- The current limit a player may hold is 5000 beads (25000 with the purchase of the Eschan urn).
Vorseals
Vorseals are permanent albeit limited use unique buffs. The effects granted differ by vorseal, but they can be combined to offer multiple boons at once.

Obtaining Vorseals
Speak to Affi or Dremi to exchange escha silt for a vorseal. Upon entering an Escha area the vorseal(s)'s effect(s) will automatically be applied, and will last for one hour (Earth time).
- The escha silt will only be consumed upon purchasing the vorseal, not when the effect is activated upon re/entering Escha zones.
- After one hour has passed or the effect has been manually deactivated, changing areas will reset the timer and reapply the effect.
New vorseals may be unlocked by a multitude of objectives, such as: progressing through various missions and quests, or defeating a number of Eschan monsters, or defeating notorious monsters that dwell in Escha zones.
Eschan Vorseals
These vorseals are unlocked by certain objectives through either Eschan zone.
Defeating the Notorious Monsters in Eschan zones unlocks a specific vorseal to that monster, as detailed above.

Equipment
Each notorious monster in Escha zones have two or more equipment drops.
- Tier I NMs Available Drops: upgradable armor pieces and accessories
- Tier II NMs Available Drops: upgradable weapons and accessories
- Tier III NMs Available Drops: various non-upgradeable weapons and armor
Tier I and II armor and weapons are upgraded through mezzotinting and applying Eschalixirs. Tier III armor and weapons cannot be upgraded but offer unique visual effects, formerly relegated to Pulse Panoplia only.
See Escha Rewards for complete information on obtaining equipment.
Eschalixirs
There are three varieties of Eschalixirs, which have increasingly potent effects on upgrading armor via Mezzotinting towards a higher rank in the armor augmentation process: Eschalixir, Eschalixir +1, and Eschalixir +2.
Upgradable armor and weapons can be "mezzotinted" with Eschalixirs by Nolan in Norg at (I-7). A preliminary mezzotinting process is performed after one of four different enhancement paths is selected. Mezzotinting does not require any eschalixira, but it does cost silt to perform.
Eschalixirs can be obtained as direct drops from both regular monsters, lottery notorious NMs, and forced spawned NMs.
Eschalixirs can also be purchased for Escha Beads from Nolan in Norg at (I-7):
- Eschalixir: 10 Escha Beads
- Eschalixir +1: 50 Escha Beads
- Eschalixir +2: 2,000 Escha Beads
