Getting Started

To challenge ZNMs you will need Soul Plates and a Soultrapper, sold by Zandjarl, in The Colosseum via Gate:The Pit next to Sashosho, in exchange for Jettons. To get the Jettons to purchace the items you must trade Imperial Currency to Zandjarl. The higher the coin you trade the more Jetton you get and the better the conversion rate of Imperial Standing to Jetton is.

Once you have the Jettons, speak to Zandjarl to purchase your trap and plates, separately.
2 Jetton: Soultrapper or 12 Blank Soul Plates
500 Jetton: Soultrapper 2000 or 12 Blank High-Speed Soul Plates

  • Soultrapper can use a Soul Plate once every 60s and only uses the cheaper Blank Soul Plates. Soultrapper 2000 can use a Soul Plate every 30sec and can use either Soul Plate.
  • Filled Soul Plates do not stack.

Once you have purchased a Soultrapper and set of blank plates equip them to Ranged and Ammo slots, and go fill your plates on monsters of the world. Trade your filled plates to Sanraku, Aht Urhgan Whitegate (E-8) near the zone to Al Zahbi. Only accepts 10 plates per game day.

  • Ryo can give hints as to what Sanraku's subject of interest currently is, and other information.

Once you have enough Zeni, 1000z+ per rank, to purchase a pop item, speak to Sanraku and ask to "Locate unique fauna", then select the name of the ZNM you wish to fight. Complete the purchase and take the pop item to the designated spot to start the fight. Tier 1 and 2 ZNMs can generally be soloed. Tier 3 and 4 require up to 18 people depending on the fight and have been customized on CEXI.

Additional Rewards

  • Each ZNM grants all participants Zeni Battle Points
  • 3000 Zeni Battle Points can be used to open the Zeni Chest next to Sanraku
  • Zeni Chest contains valuable crafting materials, unique cosmetics and pop items

Battle Mechanics

There are many custom changes to ZNMs on CatsEyeXI. Tier 3 and 4 ZNMs have been customized. All are immune to bind, gravity, lullaby, silence, sleep, and slow. All are susceptible to stun and paralyze. All T3 and T4 ZNMs have rage timers of either 30 or 60 minutes. These fights are balanced for twelve to eighteen players. Some will require alternative strategies and precise gameplay. Below are additional changes to the ZNMs.

  • Absorbs Lightning damage.
  • Rages after 30 minutes.
