Catseye-Mog-Vault.png

Inventory woes, begone! CatsEyeXI is proud to introduce a brand-new storage system that will change how you manage your gear and items: the Mog Vault.

Kept secret since the days of the ancient Moogle kingdom of Kupalika, the Mog Vault is an extradimensional pocket of Quantum Moogle space. Items placed inside the Vault completely vanish from this plane of existence... until you choose to swap them back into reality.

In practical terms:

  • The Mog Vault lets you swap the entire contents of a storage container with a container inside the Vault.
  • By putting items in the Mog Vault, you can free up a Wardrobe, Mog Satchel, Mog Sack, or Mog Case to hold more items.
  • Anything inside the Mog Vault is completely inaccessible while stored (but it is searchable with /find).

With the Mog Vault, your storage just got much less cramped. No more tough choices about which jobs to gear or which craft items to toss; just stash them in the Vault, and bring them back when you're ready!

Unlocking Vaults

Base Vaults

Completing the initial quest will unlock:

  • 1 Vault Deposit Box (for Satchel/Sack/Case)
  • 1 Vault Wardrobe (for equipment wardrobes)

Requirements:

Walkthrough:

  • Begin the quest by speaking to Moggy in Kazham H-9.
    • Moggy will ask for your help tracking down his missing big bro, Mogster. You will be tasked with delivering letters from moogle to moogle in order to solve the mystery.
  • Talk to Serino in Airship, Jeuno - Kazham
  • Talk to Mochos in Newton Movalpolos G-8
    • You can get there by warping to the mine shaft for 2,000 gil from Twinkbrix and then working your way west
  • Talk to Atla in Pso'Xja H-8 Map 14, near Golden-Tongued Culberry
    • Enter from Beaucedine Glacier N-7, Nue's tower
    • You get to Atla by dropping down the holes while aiming for the center-south (can drop left and take the first hole you see on the next two floors, twice, then go south past the scary tile floor up the stairs to the center platform)
  • Talk to Mozme in Escha - Ru'Aun H-9
  • Trade an X-Potion to Mozme
    • An X-Potion +1, +2, or +3 will also work.
  • Travel to Mount Zhayolm F-9 Map 1
  • Talk to Mogster, then talk to him again and select "Bring it on" to start a fight
    • Important! Make sure everyone in your group who is at this stage of the quest speaks with Mogster once before the fight begins, or else they will not get credit, and you'll have to repeat the fight.
    • He has a strong Regen, extremely high DEF, and hits like a brick. Plus some nice small AOE damage & amnesia or stun moves.
    • Seems to use Washtub (AoE amnesia, stun, damage) more often when hate changes.
    • Uses Draw in followed by an Stun + AoE at 50% and again at 25%. After each, his attack speed increases slightly and his double/triple attack rate seems to increase.
  • Return to Moggy in Kazham to unlock 1 vault deposit box and 1 vault wardrobe.

Tip: If you lose track of your progress, you can use the !vault command to see where you are at!

More Vaults

You can unlock more Vault containers via Moggy's Mogshop.

In future updates, you'll be able to earn additional Vault containers by doing favors for moogles.

Using Vaults

Once unlocked, you can use the !vault command while in town to view your Mog Vault.

For 10,000 gil, you may swap one of your containers with its Vault counterpart:

  • Vault Deposit Box ↔ Satchel, Sack, or Case
  • Vault Wardrobe ↔ any Wardrobe 1-8

Unlocking more vault containers will also reduce the cost of swapping containers (amount TBD).

The swap always exchanges the entire contents of both containers. (No single-item transfers!)

If your Vault container is empty, swapping will leave you with an empty container to refill as you like. Next time you swap, you'll trade the full container for whatever's in the Vault.

Heads Up! You won't be able to swap out items that are currently equipped, or swap in items that would cause you to have multiple copies of a Rare item.

Moggy's Mogshop

After unlocking the Mog Vault, Moggy opens his Mogshop, which includes cosmetic and useful items as well as expansions for the Vault. To purchase these items, players must spend Moogle Sacoche icon.png Kupo Kudos, which are earned through various moogle errands and favors.

Trade Kupo Kudos to Moggy to add them to your balance. You can also withdraw Kudos but this appears to have no purpose at this time.

Ways to Earn Kupo Kudos

  • Weekly Letter Quest
    • Each week, three moogles are selected across Vana'diel for Moggy's letter delivery chain.
    • Deliver all three letters to earn Kudos along the way, plus a bonus when you return to Moggy.
    • Your progress on this weekly quest can be tracked with the !vault command.
  • Kupo Nuts
    • Trade a Walnut icon.png Kupo Nut to any "letter moogle," or any moogle from the original Mog Vault quest, once per moogle per week.
    • Rewards include Moogle Sacoche icon.png Kupo Kudos, a Scroll of Instant Escape (new!), moogle-themed consumables, and sometimes flowerpots!
    • Obtain Kupo Nuts with points from a variety of other CatsEyeXI content.
  • Stiltzkin the Traveling Merchant Moogle
    • Each day, Stiltzkin appears near another moogle, where he sells players a package deal: one medicine, one gemstone, and one or more Kupo Kudos.
    • Stiltzkin's prices increase each time you purchase from him, with higher prices bringing better rewards; his price resets after you purchase from him 9 times.
    • Moggy will reveal Stiltzkin's current location each day once you've completed that week's letter quest.
